David DeGea still looking for a new job. Would he be better than Olsen?

He’s rather suspect with his feet too though.

Yeah, I was thinking that was part of the appeal of Onana for them. Everyone trying to play out from the back now.

Like many professional goalkeepers, he definitely would be. But I don't think we'd want to pay him £200k per week or so to sit on our bench, and I imagine he'll have better offers than our bench. Probably somewhere hot and sandy.

He doesn't at the moment, which is why I bring him up. He seemed to be angling for Madrid and Beyern, but both have said they're not interested. I would imagine he will end up Saudi bound if he's going to demand wages on par with his previous ones. If he just wants to keep playing at a decent level, then maybe he'll take a cut.

Not that I particularly rate him but would Conor Gallagher be a reasonable shout to play in our midfield 4? Competition for McGinn and Ramsey on the sides of the "box". He's a good athlete, combative and showed at Palace he is well able to get into the box and score goals. Limited technical ability on the ball, which is why I don't think Emery would be keen, but our setup might suit him.

Always see him as a player who charges round running into people, not particularly technical which Unai seems to like.  Did well at Palace in terms of goalscoring though.  Would have thought Palace would have been all over him this summer considering Chelsea’s spending spree but not really seen it….likewise West Ham and maybe Spurs now they have a few quid in the bank.

Think West Ham will go for him alright, still lots of the Rice money to blow. Poch seemed keen to keep him at Chelsea but after the two new signings he will surely look to move on. He definitely doesn't have the technical ability to play in a 2 but we are well covered there. Right now we don't have an alternative to Ramsey and I'm not sure who covers McGinn either on the other side.

Where/when would we play him? Our midfield options are more than enough and he's not better than any of them. He'll also have stupid wage demands.

Reminds me a lot of a right footed McGinn, just not as good. Which, for me at least, begs the question why?  Probably looking at 40+m too.  Useful squad player potentially but we aren't that thin on the ground for that type of midfielder.

David DeGea still looking for a new job. Would he be better than Olsen?

He’s rather suspect with his feet too though.

As opposed to Olsen, who's just suspect as a goalkeeper.

If Olsen was competent with his feet he’d be ok as a number 2….he isn’t so he isn’t

He's not especially competent with his hands either.
