I think Acuña would be a great buy. He’s a great character. Tough and also a clever player.

Nicolo Schira a reputable sports journalist in Italy claiming that Acuna has agreed a 2.5 year deal to 2026. Just need to hammer things out with Sevilla now.

And now there is a tweet from Fabrazio that Digne is on his way to Al-Hilal. This is unlikely as we will be without a left back for Everton game?

3 across the back? 😬

I agree. I thought he was so good in the World Cup, he really impressed me. With Mings out he can replace that bit of steal and leadership qualities as well.

My take on "on his way" doesn't necessarily always mean literally travelling over at this precise moment. I would say if this is happening before Sunday Acuna will be in place if he hasn't done his ACL tonight.

Can he head a ball? Without Mings, it would be quite nice if someone else could have a go.

Great business if we can get Digne's salary off the books. Assume the transfer fee will be cheap but if we can get Acuña in on a lower wage/transfer fee, we might be better off. I only remember him in the group games where he seemed a bit of an agricultural footballer to be honest but people on here say he's decent, and a World Cup medal probably adds weight to that.

I suspect it'll take Monchi 6-12m to start putting his stamp on the team.

6 to 12mill!! Is that all?

Sheffield United rumoured to have put in a 10M bid for Archer. We are not the only team putting cheeky low offers in for players.

So they value him at less than half a 2020 Rhian Brewster.

I know we’ve done well with the odd sale in the past few years but for Liverpool to con them out of £20m for Brewster was massively impressive.

Just catching up. Also Jordan Ibe and Dominic Solanke. Thick end of £60m for those three.

On Acuna, for me he didn’t really catch the eye during the World Cup, that’s not to say he’s a bad player. Am I right in thinking he started the first couple of games on the bench then came into the first team when Scaloni tweaked it?

Came off the bench in the defeat against Saudi Arabia; started in the next game in the victory against Mexico; started against Poland though subbed on a yellow card; started against Australia and subbed; started against Holland and again subbed on a yellow; missed the Croatia game (injury?) not on bench; on the bench but came on as Argentina humiliated France. Got a yellow card and a World Cup winners medal.

Is it fair to assume Emery is happy with Cash at RB, if he's now twice replaced Digne at LB, but has made no moves to bring in a RB?

Or is it a case that none of his preferred options are available so we're sticking with Cash.

Or.... is he going to go for 3 at the back and Cash becomes irrelevant?

Gets a few bookings then. Not exactly blessed with looks like some of our other players.

Fucking hell, that’s ridiculous. 2026 must be at least ten years away.

When you're making stuff up, it's easy to come out with bollocks. Absolutely nobody should heed the bullshit/palagrist merchant that runs that account. See the same for Ekrem Konur.

That’s my worry too…defending corners thank god that Ollie has come on a bundle defending the near post but defending set pieces is gonna be scary unless Carlos, Torres step up….dont think Konsa has it in him
