I think we should keep Coutinho for now and give him another chance, I still there is something there. There we’re definite signs pre season and some nice touches against Newcastle, albeit it was too late then. I can see him having an impact versus Everton.

I think that's the issue with Coutinho, he comes on in garbage time and shows some nice touches. It teases plenty on here as to what he could be capable of, still only 31 etc. But do you have any faith in his ability to play 90 mins at a high level say 30 times this season? As our highest earner he should be easily capable of that. But the unfortunate reality, based on his career post Liverpool, is that he can't and won't.

It's a case of gradually building up his game time so that he can last longer and longer. He needs a good run of staying injury-free now. It's not happened yet for him but if he can, he can go on to have greater impact for us.

I would rather we just bit the bullet, got rid of him & used the game time he would get to help integrate Aaron Ramsey into the first team.

Not going to happen for obvious reasons, but I do not believe that A. Ramsey, or any other young player, possibly Omari Kellyman, could be any worse than Coutinho has been for the large majority of his time at Villa.

Thats just my personal feelings on the matter & I understand that not everybody will agree...

Nicolo Schira a reputable sports journalist in Italy claiming that Acuna has agreed a 2.5 year deal to 2026. Just need to hammer things out with Sevilla now.

Seems an odd length for a contract given it's the summer?  He goes at Christmas then, a present for someone!

It might be my mistake on the length. It said 2026 so it might be a full three years.

Sheffield United rumoured to have put in a 10M bid for Archer. We are not the only team putting cheeky low offers in for players.

He’s got 300k followers and followed by other some football journalists. The account has done well if it’s fantasy.

So they value him at less than half a 2020 Rhian Brewster.

Didn't they spend double that on both no-hopers Brewester and McBurnie?

Sevilla president Pepe Castro has suggested that he’s had conversations with Monchi about Acuna, but no official bid has been made:

“We don’t have any written offer from Monchi or Aston Villa, they are just conversations. Acuña is a world champion with Argentina, European champion with Sevilla and has a price. When an offer arrives, we will study it and if it helps us to improve the team and be able to bring in young players with projection, it is our business model. We are going to return to that business model, young players with projection and capital gains. If Monchi calls me, for Sevilla I will do what I have to do and what is good for the club.”

I think given Mings injury, it could be good to have some quality leadership & organisational skills in the back four.

This chap might just be able to provide that for us.

I know we’ve done well with the odd sale in the past few years but for Liverpool to con them out of £20m for Brewster was massively impressive.

Ziyech is off to Galatasaray, likely Zaniolo's replacement
