few rumblings we are about to sell Archer on a permanent move. Be fuming if true

This has been on the go for a week or more now. I think of Zaniolo comes in and can play as a striker/attacking mid, and Diaby is similar, plus Watkins, then we're probably set for that position.
I don't mind as long as we have got somebody better lined up as an attacking back-up.

I don't really know how Archer would fare, as he has never started a league game for us to evaluate, and I am not sure if Emery is going to change that any time soon.

I saw Middlesbrough and Leeds linked yesterday. Sheffield Utd were the Prem team linked when this first came out.

Have seen Luton linked with Archer today as well.

I would have thought Premier League makes more sense, even with a newly promoted side, especially if we're including a buy back clause.

I think Digne deserves some credit. He's been linked with a few places this summer and probably knows his time is limited at Villa, but he's stayed, and he's trained, and he's committed to the club while he's still here.

We pay him an obscene amount of money a week, more than almost anyone at the club, the least I'd expect from him is some professionalism.

That's not really how it works though, is it. There's loads of players at loads of clubs who get paid loads of money and when they decide they want out, or are told they're surplus to requirement, they act like petulant children. Digne could have demanded to be let go as soon as the window opened, its not his problem that Moreno is out, he could have sat back on his 120k a week and demanded to be let go, refuse to train, play etc. etc.

Yeah, it's a pretty low bar, but sometimes the bar is just that low.

Oh thank you, Mr. Digne, sir, for being such a tremendously generous fellow and gracing us with your presence. We are truly honoured.

Yeah, because that's exactly what I'm asking for.

I do find it funny that you get more stick on this forum for suggesting a player has earned a bit of respect for how he's behaved, than you do for suggesting the only reason a woman has a job is because she's attractive. But we did say the bar is very low.

Is this a reference to the lovely Melissa on SSN? Because as well as being lovely, she’s also good at her job. The new girl in the hijab is also v pretty and good at her job too.

Cancel me if you like.

If we’ve got someone really good to come to in and it’s structured with a buy back like Ramsey then can’t see the issue really.

Only if it is to a PL side though.

Yeah, I meant a lot younger than Moreno. Someone to play understudy. Digne isn't going to want that at this late stage in his career.

But we're apparently after Acuna who is older than both Moreno and Digne.

That doesn't strike me as especially sensible, but if that's the way Emery wants to play it, fair enough.

It was more that there was a suggestion from someone else that’s the only reason she got the job. Which is all a bit depressing. And likely utter nonsense.

Depends how much we sell him for, and who we get in up front.

Indeed. I’d like Archer to stay and be a success clearly, but if he isn’t going to play or if he isn’t good enough then it is what it is.

I see. I felt like I probably lost track as I tend to go to the last page on threads when we’re awaiting exciting transfer news etc.
