I'd make Martinez captain. He seemed to be the only one who still gave a shit by the end against Newcastle.

I agree with your reasoning but I'm not sure goalkeepers as captains are the best option. Although if we're as hard up for leaders as we looked yesterday, why the hell not.

He spends half the game 20 yards outside of his area!

I know but do we really need to be encouraging him to do it more!

I honestly think who wears the armband is not that important, look at who was captain before Mings.  But at least with an outfielder that’s someone who can approach the referee constantly and has permission to talk to him without the risk of getting booked.

It would also be a massive slap down given to McGinn after six months of great performances to strip him of the captaincy after one defeat.

Imagine when he lines up against us next Sunday.

He won’t though will he.
I know. I'm trying anything to bring a smile (to me if no one else) after yesterday

Martinez should have been our captain when Jack left.

I think Mings was a fine choice of captain.  I think the whole debacle of stripping was wrong - but it should of gone to Martinez then

Mcginn is a great, and has been great for us - but I don't think hes a captain - or at least not as good a captain as those two

This is the point I was trying to make, and I wasn't suggesting we take the armband away from McGinn. I just think he needs to step up more now that he doesn't have Mings there all the time too. But others need to step up too and do their part. You don't need an armband to do that.

I was watching Spurs earlier and Madison, who has only been there 5 minutes, was getting stuck in in that respect. He ended up with the armband when Son went off, and maybe Son was the wrong choice to give it to in the first place, I don't know. Also possible Madison is just a bit of a d**k who likes shouting at people, but either way, it's what we needed someone doing yesterday, and going forward.

So, just to sum up as I've missed a few hours on here, the very injury Jack Harrison is going to Everton and Nicolo Zaniolo is off to Newcastle?

A doghead pal thinks they've just locked Kilman on a new 5 year deal to put us off with Mings out for the season potentially.  Logical, for once.

Is Zaniolo off to Newcastle? Haven’t seen anything to suggest that

Being linked with Laporte.

Honestly that'd be great.

Do you reckon were gonna spend big still?

Question Romano's reliability after today but his last update was that we're still waiting for Galatasary to give the green light.
