Being smarter with fringe players I'd imagine. Another good season in the championship and we'll be able to sell him for a healthy profit for FFP, rather than letting him leave on a free. Probably the hope with Barry as well (worst case).

seems sensible. goes back to somewhere he knows and is now playing at a higher level. puts him in the shop window for next summer when we might get a fee for him
