I'm not convinced Doku will end up at Man City, he would have to change almost everything that makes him exciting to fit in. If he does, it's a shame in many ways. Having said that, and watched us in pre season, I don't think he's right for us necessarily either. We have Diaby, Philogene, Bailey, Ramsey and Buendia who have all been used wide by Emery. Ramsey is the most productive, Diaby and Buendia will get a lot of game time. What we lack is a creative dictator almost. Goncalves would have been a brilliant addition. But that type. Not a tricky winger.

Can't think of anyone else that they've done that with.

Beat me to it but signing Grealish was as much about keeping him away from clubs in direct competition with them as much as anything.

Walker-Peters I've thought for a while I could see happening.

It would be good to send A Ramsey out on loan to a Premier League club, he very quickly looked too good for the Championship.

A good season this year, maybe with CL football on offer, and we could get someone who's currently out of our reach like Gonclaves or Muani. Players like that become likelier later down the line as long as we continue our current trajectory.

Cash needs upgrading on, not  just competition.

You're so unfair to Metty Cesh, eamonn, makes me sad. :(

Emery said himself that everybody was upgradeable so from that perspective, it's true. Same with Watkins. The better question is who is the higher priority to upgrade and I think most would say Olsen.

Yeah, it's verging on Polskaphobia at this stage. :(

The Poles are a great bunch of lads and Metty is a likeable fella but...yeah, sorry, he remains the weak link for me.

Happy to have him start 20 games a season if we're playing nearly 60 this season but I'd like someone stronger (positionally and final ball particularly) ahead of him.

Signed a four year contract at Real last month.

I didn't know that, it's come my way via googling.

We were supposedly in for him as well as Asensio with proposals to take them on Bosmans. Asensio obviously joined PSG and Cabellos signed a new contract.

That article points out that Madrid have since signed Bellingham and Guler, while they may have given him a contract so that they could sell him rather than lose him for nothing.

Ceballos is very close to 'onions' in Spanish (cebollas).

He can play in centre mid with Doug. Then we'd have Luiz and Onions  8)

Daily Fail saying we're waiting on a response from Tyler Adams, which suggests we've put an offer on the table.

Luiz (if you use a lot of imagination) sounds like cheese, maybe?

Is it a concrete one and based on money from our war chest :)
