Surprised at where Zaha has ended up, thought he might have had offers from teams further up the food chain. Like us.
I'd have liked Zaha but I don't think any PL club was offering what he would have wanted at his age.
And can Galatasary?

Inter Milan made a €15 million bid for Emi Martinez apparently.

Rejected.

From the same bloke who said that he’d be moving to Man Utd or Spurs or something in June.

That bid is fucking embarrassing.

It's hilarious! Maybe they were offering to take Olsen too mind....

De Gea anyone?

We paid 20m pounds when he was a backup, why would we sell for 13m after his unbelievable 2022/2023 season?!

This credits Argentinian journalist Gaston Edul with the claim, and it says that Inter have had zero contact with the player or his representatives, which makes the offer even worse, if it's real. Says Martinez is currently valued at €28 million.

€15 million would just about get you Olsen (if we were in a good mood).

Reportedly £8m a year, £150k a week which doesn’t sound too out of kilter. Can’t see any reports of what signing on fee he’s after mind.

15m euros might get you a pair of Emi’s gloves, autographed of course.

That Martinez story is obviously bollocks. Might as well stop reading at 'Argentine journalist'. The Argies all seem to think we're not a big enough club for him.

It's also not how transfers work. Going by the way we've been operating, there's a lot of talk with the player/player's agent/club before the point that an actual offer gets made.

I think that's the point that article is making without actually saying it. It also mentions that they'd have to more than double their offer and says its basically not likely they'll get a deal done. So they're calling BS on the whole thing but still "reporting" on it to get a few clicks.

But where have Galatasary found the money?  Or does he want a go at the champions league?

afternoon rumours:

leon bailey to al-nassr
keinan davis to luton
wesley to watford

Depending on the money being offered for Bailly I think I'd take all of those. I think Bailly is a better player than he gets credit for but we've replaced him with Diaby and can see another player coming in who competes for both that role and with Watkins so I'm not sure how involved Bailly will be. I'd also be willing to give Philogene a chance in the squad because he's a freebie in the european squad.

Agree with all that. I think we'd want our money back on Bailey at least, he's still young-ish and has time to improve (or just maintain his current level which may be enough to rip up the Saudi league).

We paid c.£30m for him on a 4 Yr contract, so for FFP calculations he stands at £15m on the books. Anything above that will give us a "profit".

He's had 2 seasons to get attuned to the English game, but still seems to be struggling for form and confidence (injuries accepted).

Do we draw a line, decide he's never going to be what we need and take the cash?

With Diaby coming in and Philogene putting in some decent performances, I think it might be best to take the money and put it in the transfer budget

Nah I think he’s had a good impact since Emery came in. We need quality options and I think he can be one.

He'll be off to clubs much higher in the food chain I'm afraid.
