We want another striker to play alongside or instead of Watkins
But is this Diaby ? He can play there but I don't think he is going to be the striker as such.
I think we will see a move for a striker as attacking reinforcements are needed in this area to see us through a 50 match season.
And we can't simply have one senior striker

If it's a striker to play instead of Watkins, then it would have to be a top class striker and we'd be looking at paying massive money.  I think it's more likely to be someone who will initially come in as 2nd choice, but have the potential to surpass Ollie.  Still think it is possibly a bit too early for Duran or Archer to properly fill that role just yet.

I still think there could be something in the Brennan Johnson rumours.

It's worth remembering Watkins was useless with a banjo until Ings left on the 20th of January, 2023. All this bullshit about him having a great season is..well..bullshit. It's going to be a massive season for him. FWIW I think he's improved but delivering every week is a massive ask. Interesting times.

What's Vlahovic done to annoy people? Have I missed something?
Was seen with baked beans touching his bacon at breakfast.

We have strengthened massively in key areas so if this was the end of our summer business, would you be happy?

Back up to Watkins could and should be Archer and Duran.

A potential upgrade in Cash but I can see Konsa getting reassigned there in various games over a season.

A backup GK as Olsen is, well, Olsen, but how many other teams have a senior experienced international as back up?

The Torres / Diaby signings are top draw - they will both improve our starting 11 and make other teams sit up and take notice.

Tiellmans is an odd one for me - our midfield options were pretty strong anyways so not sure we needed another international there - RB more a priority for me.

I don’t think we will sign a replacement for Olsen - most PM back up GK are not great, it’s a very difficult position to fill back up wise and chance of game time so slim.

I’d be happy if this was our business concluded - we are well positioned for Emery’s first full season in charge. I’d be ecstatic if we bring in another top draw player.

I dont think we're finished yet personally but I'm not sure who else he will bring in. I'd be happier with a new back up keeper but I can't see that happening. Another striker and another right back would conclude a very good window.

I don’t see us spending a lot now, unless someone leaves for decent money. A good opportunity for a prospect aside.

Backup goalkeeper is one of the hardest positions to fill. Anyone who has proven themselves is gonna be both expensive and unwilling to sit on the bench most games. Anyone who hasn’t yet proven themselves is going to be a risk. I can see them sticking with Olsen and relying on improvements to defence limiting his exposure.

They’ll be concentrating now on shipping people out and freeing up slots and funds.

We've only signed one forward; I don't think we're done.

I wonder if the young lad Marschall could step up? Your right no really good keeper would be happy sitting on the bench, but the likes of Palace have had Sam Johnstone on their bench. The problem with Olsen is not that he’s not comparable to Martinez, not many are, he’s just simply in his performances so far, amongst the worst we’ve ever had. There simply has to be someone  else out there.

A reserve keeper could be starting 10-15 games this season. Not bad for a number 2 keeper.

You guys are wise and spot on. There are 40 days till the window closes.

The ideal situation would be to upgrade Olsen, Cash, and Watkins so we have the depth and quality to compete at the highest level in the domestic competitions throughout a 50 game season, a squad that is eye-opening and players of high European footballing calibre is now required throughout the team

An effective backup keeper who is either Spain or South American on the bench who can play out from the back is needed.  The right back defender needed may be someone who can play football better than Cash or at least compete and the striker should be our marquee signing of the summer.

The window is far from over and we can expect and deserve more exciting happenings in the next 5 weeks!

The season starts in just under three weeks.

Now we need to look at potential players in these 3 key areas
Goal Keeper
Right Back
Striker.

I also feel we could bring in another winger and midfielder but don't think more than a maximum of 5 signings in next 5 weeks will be made

seems excessive and i think Emre likes a smaller squad , definitely a RB and a keeper

I still wonder if Johnson is on the cards. I agree losing Young I’d be surprised if we haven’t got someone coming in there and there’s no way after watching Olsen play he thinks he fits our system.
