Gazzeto dello Sport (sp?) are linking us to Zakaria from Juve.

Top player, with height & power, but not sure we need more CMs...

I don't want to tempt fate but I wonder if we would allow Douglas to go if we get the right price?  i hope not as he's got better and better.

If we'd sell either (and I hope we wouldn't) I think we'd be more likely to sell Kamara for the FFP impact.

I guess it could happen as neither were signed by Unai and they sometimes want their own players.  I rate Kamara really highly and would hope we keep him.  That said, if we could get Kessie from Barcelona, it might make up for it.

At some point, we will have to sell one of our best players to manipulate FFP. I just hope the club are savvy enough to plan for that curveball.

Zakaria a target for West Ham and think its just one of those using Villas name
I have a theory that Italy, in particular, frequently mentions Aston Villa as a club that players would be interested in joining? There appears to be an understanding to use us Aston Villa to alert clubs and to instigate moves

Although Zakaria is a reliable midfielder and would provide some muscle, I don't buy the interest. Though there is talk of Villa being interested in obtaining another midfielder but in my opinion, Zakaria would only work as an either/or situation if sold Chambers or Dendoncker.

Unless we are loaning Tim Iroegbunam and selling both but that would dispell my theory that Italian league clubs are using Aston Villa and that they have paid the transfer commitment to do so.  Something similar maybe in Spain but those links are more likely and it can be more of an Italian thing to do.

On that basis we'll see Zakaria move to West Ham in coming days and Juvr used us in agreement to get the sale through quicker.

I'd rather have Zakaria than Dendoncker or Chambers as a midfield option though.
He's always looked decent for Switzerland when I've seen him and has the energy and athleticism that the Belgian lacks.

Kamara, Tielemans , McGinn,  Ramsey and Douglas combined cost the same if not less than Chukwuemeka sale to Chelsea !

Luiz has a book value of fuck all in football finance terms, it'll be something like £3.6m.

Given he's worth more than Kamara I think we'd make a massive profit either way. Not that I expect either to be sold.

That’s the ideal situation, Dendonkar is moved on for someone similar but with those attributes you mention.
That said I still quite like Dendonkar and if he’s in the squad next season fine, that ‘upgrade’ is less important than getting in another forward option (in addition to Diaby), a quality RB to compete with Cash and a decent back up GK.

M

outrageous comment 😳
Took my daughter to see the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical in Manchester last night. The theatre had a row M and row O, but no row N which I thought was borderline crazy.

By the way, if you're thinking of taking a little one to that (in B'ham later in the year) ... then do. It's brilliant.

I think its really important that have another full season with Dougie and Kamara building their partnership in midfield, surrounded by improving players and new signings. Same with Watkins.
