Any particular reason for the ire?

Venice-Genoa thing. They didn't like each other 800 years ago and around here that's more than enough.

Also, charlatan, Serb nationalism in Kosovo involves genocide denial. There it is.

Sounds a bit like Shard End and Castle Brom, understood. The Italian bit, not the genocide denial.

The most cursory glance at Balkans history would suggest that when it comes to bearing a grudge (most) Serbs are in a class of their own.

more bollox

Chelsea are interested in Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, according to a report.

Journalist Simon Phillips, via Football London, claimed new Blues boss Maurcio Pochettino is currently considering his attacking options – with Watkins said to be on his radar.

Genoa not happy that we may be 'meddling' with their deal for Mateo Retegui. I hope we are but we're cutting it really fine, they have everything approved and hoped to sign him today.

Are you hearing anything, Monty?

Can't find anything in Gazzetta, they're pretty much just profiling the player and what he might bring.

Of course, as it's Genoa I wish them nothing but curses and epithets.

Cursory glance at dogheads mix forum, they seem to think they are in with a shout

Supposedly looking at Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus.

Looks like Chelsea and Real are also looking into his situation.. would be insane if we were to pull something like that off.

Vlahovic is better than Kane ... at free kicks! But seriously he's good just been failed by the team and tactics at Juve.
I think if he came to the Prem he would thrive and be back to scoring goals like he did before his Juve move. Blame Juve more than DV as he is an excellent striker in my eyes.

No fascists, nobody genocide-adjacent, no nothing like that. Villa are something of a national team for Birmingham, an exceptionally diverse city with a lot of Muslim people in it, and anybody who has anything to do with any of that Serb racial imperialism can't represent them.

So we can't have Serb nationalists who want Serbia to claim an area with lots of Muslims as their own play for us because we've claimed an area with lots of Muslims (admittedly more of whom are on board) as our own (and on top of that we now have bogus self-important notions of nationhood so presumably Coventry will need to up its defence spending)?

Lots of Muslims in Birmingham are against homosexuality. Can they be part of this Villa nation conceit?
That's not really a valid comparison and I'm sure you understand why. But, for balance, racistly nationalist, homophobic, etc people from Birmingham can fuck off n all*.

* Actually I don't really mind people holding those views as long as they keep them in the privacy of their own home and don't flaunt it in front of others, yada yada yada ... :P

They are a weird bunch. It's a bit like, 'they have a great manager, great players, great owners, great support but, but, but it's only Aston Villa'!!!

He can fuck off and take his three fingers with him, in that case.

Indeed.
And now I'm singing
Three fingers on a street
Vlahovic still bleeding
No more Serbs that bleat
No more need to sign him.
Mitrovic also makes that celebration.
And he's going to Saudi Arabia

If I could point you in the direction of the away game against Fulham last season as evidence, Mitrovic is also a massive c***.

Yes I not a fan of his antics and having been made aware of Vlahovic after posting about his free kick ability and ability to score goals he's someone that has very different views to how seen but there is some context regards 3 fingers however the t shirt statement said it all.
So it's hard to forgive him about his strong beliefs

Vlahovic showed 3 fingers
He's got his strong beliefs
Vlahovic wore a T Shirt
He's got his strong beliefs

Freed from desire!
Ethnic cleansing purified
Etc etc

One of few places in the world where they don't stop at the three fingers, they have the whole hand off.

We need to ditch Olsen before this window closes

It's basically like he's not there.

I imagine opposing managers in their team talks say the same. “Lads Villa have decided to play with 10 outfield players and no keeper. Take lots of shots”
