I'm not a fan of that sort of behaviour. Get yourself to Saudi Arabia (or Florida) if your main interest is being the highest paid.

Please can we have one thread ( a bloody important one as well as its about new recruits) to remain politics free.

If people want to discuss Saudi leagues and the politics behind it etc then fine - but not in a thread like this

Pretty please

Which transfers are you upset that people aren't discussing?
Why don't you and the merry band of moderators comply with the requests and moderate instead of asking questions. You can tell that not only are individuals unhappy, but there is also off-topic arguing on this thread. When there has been a significant amount of off-topic conversation, it is quite challenging to follow and discuss the specified issue.

It's all rather unpleasant to read and lacking in context of transfer discussion
This goes against the forum's spirit and I want to say I'm dissatisfied with what is being allowed to continue.

Up The Villa!
On a personal note, I'm very happy with this forum and the way it can enrich the often tedious, repetitive speculation about transfers, formations, shit badges and the like. If there were no OT ramblings there would be no point for me.  I get that some might find this frustrating but the only way to counter it is to post about the topic and hope somebody engages with you. Ranting and trying to change the spirit of a forum that has been in existence for a couple of decades is only going to end one way in my humble opinion.

I forgot to mention the other day I don't see Pedro Gonçalves signing, the fool has just got engaged to a bloody medical student. I can't see the student doctor being too thrilled being stuck here by herself whilst her future husband is living the dream by playing for Aston Villa.

It's going to be so 'competitive' in training next season it might do no harm to be married to a medical student.

It saves money on 'nurses outfits' as well.

Florida is hardly a beacon of hope for the lgbtq+ community, or people of colour. A number of organisations have issued travel warnings for the state, so while they're not at the level of Saudi Arabia, it is a fair comparison.

That's funny because Florida quite literally WAS the beacon of hope to all the Cuban refugees that escaped the wonderful, loving and caring utopian Castro regime. Unless of course you don't consider Cubans to be "people of color"  ::)

The yanks had been pillaging the country with their puppet dictator for decades, but you go with your Hollywood story

Apologies for bringing this back up but such ignorance should not be left to stand unchallenged...

Hollywood story ? You have no idea what you are talking about. My Father-in-law is Cuban and he and his brother escaped Cuba as young kids right after the Castro revolution. His uncle was executed by Castro's people and he didn't see his parents again for years as they didn't make it out.

Sorry to hear that CT.

Most mobologists (who are, in the main, pretty apolitical in my experience), think that Cuba would have been much better off had the American mafia been in charge, as they would have been if not for the revolution..

Agree with this. If I was after Villa news then you can get that from Google or whatever. Here you get enrichment.

Have the Saudis taken many players from European clubs?

Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio, Brozovic from Inter.

Fofana from Lens now - who is one of the best midfielders in Ligue 1.

Be interesting to see in a year or two where some of these younger players end up. Is it likely that a European club will be in a position to buy them back next summer if they're really not happy? Would it be as simple as that? I think there's more to consider than just wages when making this move, especially when it's not a short term pension plan.
