I've never been to Saudi Arabia, and have absolutely no desire to. But isn't it a bit dodgy for Westerners in a lot of parts over there?

I'd be risking execution, so have to say yes!

What are the crowds going to be like? Part of what makes the Premier League an attraction is full stadiums, will that happen there?

Al-Ittihad's average attendance was over 40,000 last season.

Gerrard's Al Ettifaq on the other hand, more like 6,000.

Nothing exciting, just that homosexuality is illegal in Saudi Arabia and punishable by prison, lashes, and potentially death if they so decide.

The only way watching Gerrardball could be more depressing - played out in front of 6,000 in a vile state like Saudi Arabia.

Can't imagine what that must feel like, knowing that in some parts of the world you could be executed just because you've fallen in love with somebody they don't agree with. Neanderthal twats.

I might be being a bit judgmental but a place that is too fcuking hot, has lots of sand, where you struggle to get a legal drink, where you can have your hands chopped off for the slightest misdemeanour, where you can be stoned to death for loving someone of the same sex, doesn't exactly strike me as the most appealing place to work.

On the other hand, if you've grown up in Liverpool...

It is why I don't ever desire to go to places even like Dubai - I just don't find them appealing whatsoever.
