Imagine that big name European forward that got posted on here last week was actually Lukaku.

He gave two of the most disgusting performances in centre forward play I have ever seen (vs Croatia in the World Cup, then the CL final).

I have an irrational dislike of him for that CL game.

Felix would be great though. I don't think Stan is winding us up but I don't think he knows much either. Anyone who winds up other Villa fanswith transfer bullshittery is an arsehole imo. I don't care if you do it to other clubs but don't do it to your own.

How far back in time do we need to go to see Felix playing well? Every time he played for Chelsea (that I watched) he was awful. This guy has turned his nose up at joining us before and is holding out for CL teams. He may well be brilliant, but if it’s with us, he’d be desperate to leave.

Weird as the games I saw at Chelsea he played well and in one the commentators made reference to how bad the rest must be when a loan player was working harder and playing better.

He’s definitely a bit lost right now, so is a risk, but playing for Emery, rather than Simone and his hand break, and he could be back up in the world class category.

The thing is he would have to fit into Unai’s world. No prima donnas, you have a job to do and you will learn.  He’s young enough to take that on board.  At Chelsea Potter was at sea and I doubt he gave him the time

Just seen Romano links to Jeremy Doku... if what he says is true the numbers seem to add up

*Tin foil hat on* Am I thinking a bit too deeply when I say PIF might be using those Saudi clubs not only to establish their domestic league but to weaken Newcastle's Premier League rivals?  If Newcastle can't spend any more money due to FFP, the next best option for them is to throw spanners into the works of their rivals' plans?

Looks quality to me. He ran the game at Old Trafford to the point that Gary Neville asked whether his loan would be made permanent or not. The commentator said he didn't think so and Neville remarked that of all the signings Chelsea had made in the last 2 windows, he was the one that looked like he would be worth keeping.

Yeah and dodgy loan deals.  I am equally as suspect that it is part of a big sports washing strategy that will involve domestic league, newcastle, and sooner or later other clubs they buy.

Personally - its seems like less effort to, you know, stop state sponsored murders than all this.

And tennis and golf and....for some reason sports people still seem only to really care about their pay cheque...

I actually think it’s the opposite; currently I think it’s helping some of Newcastle’s rivals by Saudi clubs buying talent that is largely unwanted at a Chelsea or others. Potentially £40m for Fabinho who is 30 in a few months and who is starting to show signs of decline is good for Liverpool. If Saudi clubs started signing players the Sky 6 don’t want to sell would be different.

Yep is Liverpool get £60m to get rid of Henderson and Fabinho they’ve done really well.  Wages gone and cash in the bank.

Well, more like have one of their Saudi clubs buy the target player because Newcastle can’t spend any money due to FFP, then loan the player to Newcastle.

Within five years they will have their own super league backed by Middle East money
They already own a handful of clubs and that will increase and they will buy their way into a league that they own

We have seen a whole host of players going to Saudi and Middle East because of the incredible amounts of money they can earn, principles mean nothing
It will be no different for actual clubs

I think the Premier League as we know it has only got a few years left

Jeremy Doku? Me neither.

https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1680606765812002827

He is a serious talent.

Bit injury prone though...

But you are right, he is a top prospect. Has stupid pace...
