A player like Lukaku would be perfect for us, but Lukaku isn't that player anymore and I'm not convinced he has it in him now.

Need more classics like this (on claret & blue vinyl).

Absolute classic, always reminds me of the journey up to Ewood Park for the first leg of the league cup semi final. Great lads, great away trip and great result.

Reminds me of us singing it in Wycombe train station, whilst throwing around a wheel of cheese liberated from the executive boxes.

Ha, well we needed to make our own entertainment to raise spirits after that shit show.
Listening to that youtube video again, the tune and words has "something to it" and can see it did make good vibes for those being there at the time  8)

Emery wouldn't give Lukaku the steam off his piss. There's hardly a player in Villa's squad now who isn't committed to the cause. Those who aren't, will be leaving very shortly.

He's also done the same with a picture of Joao Felix.

Bell end

I'll be passing through there later, just after Bellbroughton. Do you need any petrol?

Watching Buendia again yesterday only reinforced my belief that we need a significant upgrade in that position. So much of our forward play goes through him & more often than not breaks down with him. He either takes too long, picks the wrong pass or makes a poor pass & after watching him for 2 years, I don't see that changing.

Yeah he was crap yesterday, although I was impressed with him throwing off that Walsall defender who looked like a WWF star. He’s bulked up.

I'd probably sell Buendia to be honest. I don't think his all round contribution is enough to make up for his shortcomings.

I wouldn’t sell him, what I’d like to see is genuine competition for his place, if he has any aspirations of caps for Argentina he needs to up his game & regularly.  For me he is still In Championship mode a lot of the time, trying through balls against the likes of donkeys like Liam Cooper or Grant Hanley works, try it vs Van Dijk or Dias he is too predictable to read.

Upgrade, retain Buendia, bomb out Coutinho

I think an upgrade on Buendia is needed if we are going to progress.  I like Emi and he brings a lot of energy to the side, but he just gets found out against better opposition.  The big question for me is whether Coutinho can play in the role that Buendia played last season.  In theory, he should be ideally suited to that role and just has that extra bit of quality.

If we do bring in a wide player and a another striker, then the scope might not be there this summer to bring someone in for that position.  I still think there are a lot of good players around in that position and we could bring in a top quality option.

Edit - Oh yeah, definite no to Lukaku as well!

While I want nothing to do with Lukaku, a player of his ilk paired with Ollie would be nearly impossible to defend.

I’d rather have Ormondroyd back than Lukaku.
