I dont really see the need for carrying this on to be honest.

Watching Buendia again yesterday only reinforced my belief that we need a significant upgrade in that position. So much of our forward play goes through him & more often than not breaks down with him. He either takes too long, picks the wrong pass or makes a poor pass & after watching him for 2 years, I don't see that changing.

Yeah he was crap yesterday, although I was impressed with him throwing off that Walsall defender who looked like a WWF star. He’s bulked up.

I'd probably sell Buendia to be honest. I don't think his all round contribution is enough to make up for his shortcomings.

I wouldn’t sell him, what I’d like to see is genuine competition for his place, if he has any aspirations of caps for Argentina he needs to up his game & regularly.  For me he is still In Championship mode a lot of the time, trying through balls against the likes of donkeys like Liam Cooper or Grant Hanley works, try it vs Van Dijk or Dias he is too predictable to read.

Upgrade, retain Buendia, bomb out Coutinho

Coutinho would be perfect in place of Buendia if  he could stay fit.

Me too, I'd have him higher on the list than Bailey personally. He's the sort of player that some fans love because he runs around a lot and shows a lot of passion but for me he's been with us for 2 years and still doesn't look like he understands how most of the team play. The problem of course is that I don't see there being many takers for him.

I'd be aiming to replace Buendia and Bertie (even though i love watching him I don't think he really fits with how we're playing) in this window and I'd give Bailey and Coutinho 1 more chance and ship them out in Jan/next summer if they still aren't contributing.

Yep, the rain has cleared so everyone should go for a nice walk and get some air.

watching the team run around yesterday confirmed my opinion on the new shirt

I don’t know what it is but It just doesn’t look right, there’s something wrong going on there

I don’t normally get exercised about the shirt they all look pretty similar to me, but this one is a bit rubbish
Worst one yet I reckon, the sponsor doesn’t help absolutely crap

I keep Buendia this year. I’d like to see Emery really work on Buendia to see if/how much he can improve him before we get rid.

If there’s no improvement then priority 1 next summer.

Problem with selling him is that you’d be looking at a massive loss, he’s proved slightly under par in the PL so few takers and players like him seem ten a penny in Spain.

I agree, I've tried to give it some time but having seen them in person, in adverts and now during a game I just don't like anything about it, the piping on the shoulders might be the worst 'feature' we've ever had on a kit, I have no idea how anyone could look at that and think it was good.

I’ve got the single. I’ve also got “ Hey Aston Villa” and “ We’re Going Up”. Classics.

Yeah, I've still got the single as well, but not the other two. As BNS says, a reminder of some good times.

Not sure if you’re aware but there’s a French rock band called Aston Villa https://www.discogs.com/artist/464685-Aston-Villa?

If you look at the renders on the OS shop, the piping is supposed to join the corner of the claret chest. On the actual shirts, it’s nowhere near, which makes a shit design feature look even worse.

Also literally the only difference that I can see between the normal and ‘pro’ version are three small holes they’ve cut into the pro version under the arms for ventilation. It’s supposed to be a slimmer fit, and in previous years the pro kit was quite clingy indeed. These are absolutely no different in fit whatsoever, and I’ve said before, the material is atrocious.

Need more classics like this (on claret & blue vinyl).

I remember when we were kids, I reckon this'd be 1980, maybe a bit later, my best mate had an album compilation of Villa songs, which had "Hey Aston Villa" on it. All I remember is i am sure it was on Cherry Red records.

Just googled and I can see a late 90s compilation, but as i said, this was about 20 years earlier.

Ah, sun's out here but I think we can all agree that the weather's been a bit shit the past few weeks.
