Al-Ahli are likely to sign Riyad Mahrez. He would be a wonderful addition to our attack and there arent many better than him other than Salah and Saka playing right wing cutting in. One of the best wingers in recent Premier league seasons over the last 5 or 6 years.

I doubt we could afford him if the Saudis are after him.
True they are one of the Saudis Sports investment project clubs.
Gerrards  moved to Ettifaq who are not one of the 4 clubs and he is looking for Henderson but they aren't so forthcoming with fees.

I see Al Hilal pulled a major coup with Ruben Neves.
What about Fabinho going to the Saudis - theres  stories, will be a big blow to Liverpool

You were marking papers and not being paid?

OK.

Yes.

Obviously not full time. I got office space and lab access and did some teaching gratis. I have ever been a full time academic, but have always had to find ways to access the facilities for my research.

Edit.

To further clarify, at the time I was prohibited form working for a couple of years due to a clause in my contract when I was forced out of a listed company I founded. I was in a legal battle, and going through a divorce. The university gave me some space and lab access, I did some teaching. But I still give guest lectures all over the place gratis, I enjoy teaching as I have a great love of my subject.

This is not unusual, one of the professors I know at that university carried on teaching for free for six years after he retired.

I do a lot of teaching still, and never charge even if I have to mark stuff or spend time with students. I couldn't do it as an only source of income, but am happy to chip in. If I wanted an academic career I could get one, same as if I wanted to earn a lot I would have a queue of multinationals lined up. I just like doing my own thing, and have been lucky enough to self fund through my business efforts for the most part.

On the bright side, at least we haven't done anything as cringey as that Arsenal Fan TV Declan Rice thing.

Just nearly cringed myself inside out.

Firmino got there
Yeah and maybe Henderson too.
Liverpool are on a whole rebuild of midfield.
There's a chance here for Villa with Chelsea Spurs and Liverpool in transition. I also have my doubts on Man City hitting the same heights and somewhat transition too and seem some players are wanting to move on.

Definitely think have to attack this Transfer market and really get 4 more high quality players into the squad.

Leftist word salad

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-intellectualism

On the contrary, I am pro intellectualist. Universities are being systematically stripped of academic rigour and elitism. I once got told I was not allowed to give such low marks, as the students pay a lot of money.

Universities should be like the premier league - completely focussed on being the best at each discipline and completely oblivious to race, gender, sexuality, religion, politics and background as much as possible. the hard left is anti - reality.

How can universities be oblivious to race, background etc etc, when most students  come out of it with 40k plus of debt, a far less worrying figure if your from a privileged background in the first place. Lots and lots of working class kids are put off going as they couldn’t contemplate that debt, is that the reality your talking about??? You come from from a seemingly horrible internalised world.

Anyway fuck it i really am ducking out of this insight into your world mister, i’ll leave you to your thoughts of exterminating the vermin infesting our schools.

Your last paragraph is spot on and exactly how we should be planning. If we don’t get our targets, at least we tried.

Imagine how many pages will get added if we sign Diaby and Johnson!

The lefties would lose their shit if Johnson got any sort of deal.

I absolutely do not agree with the current student loan system. We need less places at university, fully funded for lower income family's. Well off people should fund it for their own kids though. Well off kids not good enough I would not let in. I am a true elitist.

Too many people go to university, standards have been diluted. Historically they have been too middle class. Both not linked.

West Ham being linked with Harry Maguire now. Can't believe we're going to let that one slip between our fingers.

There's some real nasty posters on this site who jump into bullying/harassment mode really fast whenever someone behaves differently (footy seems to kop the most of this)
Or when someones world view/politics is different (Ashton is getting it today)
Then theres the whole labour vs tory stuff. Which seems to get shoe horned in whereever possible.

You guys may find it amusing but personally it makes me feel uncomfortable reading through the bullying whenever it occurs.

Even if in your view the person you're being a dick is in your view more of a dick. You're still being a dick.

Just let people be for fucks sake.

(I'm aware I may be the only person getting fed up with all this, still. I felt strongly enough to bother posting this!)

Every time you write that it means less and makes you look worse, it's basically 'my dad is bigger than your dad' at this point.
