Blimey, Diaby and Johnson would more than do.
I think you'd have to say that Tielemans, Torres, Diaby, and Johnson... I mean, we'd have had worse summers

You’re not wrong there. In fact I think only Malia in 1994 would top it, but for different reasons, of course.

I’d like us to keep Digne unless he’s not having being the likely second choice at left back.

Diaby and Johnson would be very good indeed as the new forward options.

Assuming we make the group stages in Europe, and manage a run in at least one of the cups, then being second choice LB could still see him getting a lot of game time. I guess you'd probably still rather be first choice, but it's not like we're planning a season of 1 game a week and very little rotation of players.

Yep, I hope he stays. He’s a tidy player if not as dynamic as Moreno.

Do think replacement GK could be the last player through the door.

Not only are they likely to be cheaper than the other transfers, Italy also be a case of some Keepers waiting to see if there's a first team opportunity before agreeing to be second fiddle.

Back up keeper will just happen, can’t see it being something we’ll see days and days of links to, still convinced it will be a Spanish keeper that the goalie coach knows.

What sort of wage is Digne on then and would it be much different to what Tierney would demand? I would think there wouldn’t be that much difference, might as well just pay Forest and not use Digne as a makeweight.

According to the Nottingham Post, Digne's on about 120k a week. No idea if that's accurate or where they got it from.
A quick Google gives multiple reports of Tierney being on about 110k a week.

If Digne goes we need 2 full backs. Emery has made the change at full back in so many games either for a change of tactic or simply for freshness, I can't see him going into the season with 1 recognised player is each role. They might be loans, or younger players etc, but I'm sure will come.

Tierney is a better player than Digne for me, but his injuries are a major concern

With regards to the potential signing of Diaby, other fans are starting to cream themselves over us now.

Speculation regarding Joao Felix also. Apparently we're the only club in for him.

Anyway, with just 30 days to go, every day is pots finally a juicy day for transfers. Hope Villa can bring the juice!

There’s not a massive drop off between them but I’d probably agree. If you’re not saving that much in wages is it worth taking the risk. A more of an up and coming left back might be better. Perhaps the top brass have their eye on Moreno mark II.

I've seen Newcastle and Utd linked with him too. Both seem like more likely choices, although I'm not sure what their financial situations are. Newcastle haven't been able to get the Barnes deal done yet, lots of speculation that they have to sell first.

That said, if things are so bad that he's being made train with the kids, maybe Conference looks about as appealing as Champions League.

Marca are reporting he's said no to Villa. Think he'll end up at PSG, probably on loan. Hopefully he will regret not coming in years to come. Diaby and Johnson give us a very different look going forward, and depth will be there. Don't need Felix as well realistically. The tall Belgian lad might be worth a shot as an option of we can get him on a decent deal.

So Diaby and Bailey played together for 2 seasons, both racking up 50 - 60 appearances each over those 2 seasons, anyone know how that worked? Did they always just sub for each other? Need some German football expert here.

He’ll go on a loan to a champions league team. I also think it’s Brennan or Diaby, rather than both.

Rodrigo from Leeds (see links from earlier in the summer) has gone to Saudi Arabia.
Actually off to Qatar. Are the Qataris looking at what the Saudis are doing with their league and deciding they want a piece of the action now?

Dialby is an exciting link.  But he’s 5ft 6 and we’re probably already the smallest team in the PL.  if Torres plays ahead of Mings we’d lose a lot of power there too.  Are we going to get bullied?
