Italian press saying we’ve bid for Charles De Ketelaere.

Sounds like a gem thief

I like de ketelaere, I reckon he could be a fantastic player with the right setup around him.

What are you basing that on Paul? He's gone to Milan for big money, and done absolutely nothing. He started 9 games and got a handful of minutes here and there. One assist all season.

Just imagine if they pulled off Felix, Diaby and Kessie, with a new keeper and right back - or would we still be complaining they haven’t bought a new striker?!?

I have a very disturbing image now of what lengths our recruitment staff may go to to persuade players to join.

Let's hope they don't blow it

Well clearly not on his time with Milan!

every time I've seen him he's always looked like he has everything you'd want from a 2nd striker, happy drifting deep/wide, plays with his had up and looking for runs and draws defenders to him to create space. Lets not forget he's only just turned 22 so this is a guy who's younger than most of the team that just won the u21s with England.

I just watched his 'season highlights' youtube for last season, and it's immensely underwhelming.

Not sure there's much to be had there tbh although I don't watch the Belgian league much.

He looks like he could play Peter Beale on Eastenders

He looks like a cross between Patrick Bamford and Savo.  He clearly defends from the front which is probably why  Unai wants him but we really need a goal scorer

Honestly think the Milan link is just to speed the Diaby interest along.

He feels our number one target for the final third.

Don't know enough about any of these players to have an opinion on which ones we should sign, but I'm very happy to see the majority of names we're being linked with now are attacking forward players.

I get slightly troubled when we get linked to players from the Belgian league, and to a lesser extent the German league too.

Our last few forays into Belgium yielded Nakamba, Wesley and Samatta. Of those only Nakamba offered anything, and the other two are among our worst ever strikers.

The underwhelming impact of Bailey at Villa and Sancho at Man Utd is a concern when looking at wingers ripping it up in Germany.

Now I probably need to relax and trust in Emery and Monchi, but I wont be getting excited about signings from those leagues until I see them perform on the pitch for us.

I see another "story" claiming Martinez's future at Villa is "in suspense" and then when you read it, it says nobody has come looking for him, and he hasn't said he wants to leave. I guess they've got click baity trash sites in Argentina too.
