Openda off to Leipzig

Isn’t that a Half Man Half Biscuit album?

Felix won't be coming here, coupled with the fact than he'd cost a fortune.

I think the knock backs will have more to do with our location rather than Football Club itself

I’m not saying we are seen as a massive draw for players in Europe but they would rather be London centric or one of the Champions League northern clubs

At the moment

You probably dont mean them but are Newcastle more appealing than us at the moment, I wonder?

They do have Champions League, and oil money, but they've said themselves they were ahead of schedule with what they achieved this season. I don't think they were planning on having to build a squad to manage league/cups and Champions League this summer. They could have a similar season to West Ham next year, minus the trophy part.

If the images/videos of Tonali arriving at Newcastle are anything to go by, the place itself may not be the biggest draw, he looks absolutely gutted.

Zola apart has any Italian striker made a go of it here, my recollection is that most of them have been invariably bobbins. Let’s hope Tonali is of the same ilk.

Vialli?

Tonali isn’t a striker.

Ravenelli one season. Carbone and DiCanio did ok. They haven't had many great ones in the last 20 years regardless since SerieA lost its shine.

Yep good call on Vialli and I had no idea Tonali wasn’t a striker.

Rossi was pretty decent and has the most posts on here.

He was actually ok in a very shit Chelsea team in the second half of the season. Defiantly got something about him. It would be another statement signing but there’s no way he’d want to come to us.

One of very few that looked up for it and actually half decent when I saw them. He'd be a bloody brilliant signing and a real statement if it was loan to perm for example. Got him and say Diaby in, you're looking at a very very decent squad next season in almost all areas. Right back and keeper depth aside.

He started out as a deep-lying playmaker, and was compared to Pirlo. But that might just be because they both started at Brescia and ended up at Milan.

Last season he was a bit more box-to-box, similar to the job McGinn did for us.

Reports in Italy saying that Chiesa's agent is trying to make a move to Villa happen, but as reported multiple other places, the player himself sees us as second tier and isn't interested.

I don't get this.

Surely, if Chiesa didn't want the move, that'd be it - nothing to push for from the agent and nothing from our side, either.

Apparently the player does want out of Juve, but maybe if nobody else is interested then the agent thinks he might be able to convince him, get a nice little fee for himself. Or maybe he's trying to use us to sound out other teams. No idea.

Personally I feel like he rejected the idea of us weeks ago and we've moved on, if we were ever seriously interested.

Speaking of people we've probably moved on from.... I saw there that Newcastle are still negotiating for Harvey Barnes and are thinking of an opening offer of 30million. Which is a far cry from it being a done deal as was claimed nearly a week ago.

Heard somewhere that it was a record fee fur an Itslian player.  Is that right?
