Well I think hes second tier so there.

And his mums not even third tier

The bus from Brixton to Streatham are staring at  me for laughing out loud.

Maybe it's our kookiness.

Maybe, maybe.

I must be getting old. All these linked players - it reminds me of playing Championship/Player Manager with randomised players.

Baileys hamstrings have been a curse, never looked confident after his second one.

I think the knock backs will have more to do with our location rather than Football Club itself

I’m not saying we are seen as a massive draw for players in Europe but they would rather be London centric or one of the Champions League northern clubs

At the moment

You probably dont mean them but are Newcastle more appealing than us at the moment, I wonder?

They do have Champions League, and oil money, but they've said themselves they were ahead of schedule with what they achieved this season. I don't think they were planning on having to build a squad to manage league/cups and Champions League this summer. They could have a similar season to West Ham next year, minus the trophy part.

I think they've got too many good players for that to happen now. West Ham bought that donkey from Italy up front and had 48 year old Antonio. Newcastle have players like Maddison, Isak, Guimaraes etc etc.

Yeah, I'm sure they'll want to make a good show of it, and it depends on the draw, but it's not highly likely they'll compete beyond the groups, I'd think. Which still allows them plenty of time to focus on the League, and getting Europe again.

It's definitely going to be an interesting season, especially with Spurs and Chelsea having nothing but the league to focus on.

Other fans are probably saying similar about us.

I don't know. I think Emery's goal from he got here was to get us back into Europe. We were in the mix for the other competitions, even if only briefly, but honestly I think Conference is a decent place to start. And I just don't think you need as strong a squad to compete there and in the league, as you do in the Champions League.

Now obviously Newcastle could still add a bunch of players before the end of the window and be fine. We'll presumably add more too.

I just think that Newcastle weren't really expecting to be in the Champions League quite so soon, and by all accounts they're not in a position to splash the cash, having to sell to buy. So I think it might be a case of them having to try to catch their plans up to their actual success.

Bloody hell, he didn’t last long at Spurs.

Lots on here claimed he was a world beater when Chelsea got him on loan, I could not see it myself.

Anyone tell me otherwise?

He was actually ok in a very shit Chelsea team in the second half of the season. Defiantly got something about him. It would be another statement signing but there’s no way he’d want to come to us.
