Havertz must be rated for a reason, I agree though I've not really seen it but he's been spoken about for years. He's definitely not a number 9 anyway but he probably should be in the Odegaard position so I do wonder what the plan is for him.

To play as a ‘left sided No8’ according to Arteta.

Arsenal are spending upwards of £200m, yet their season fell apart because of an injury to a centre half. They'll need to spend another chunk on a centre half or two.

Buying someone from Ajax for another £50m.

Can see him being the type of player who could flourish playing regular football. Similar to Gabriel Jesus.

Kim Min Jae joining Bayern should now pave the way for us getting Pau Torres

Should, surely?

Back to Villa, the Pau Torres links were doing the usual yesterday. Alex Crook on Talkshite suggested it was real and if we "pulled it off" it would be a very strong signing.

What about the worries that he's crap in the air?

Half a notch? If Rice ever puts in a performance quite like Keane did against Juventus in 1999 then he might be worth talking about in the same sentence.

They both did walk out on their country...so there is that. Keane did say last season that Rice is better than he was at the same age but I'm not convinced. Keane always seemed a lot more dynamic to me, got around the pitch a lot quicker.

But Jesus is allright but a bit goal shy like Havertz. Dont think its enough to win them a title.

I dont think Rice is or ever will be as good as Keane.
He is a great player but not that great.

Talk of him wanting to play deeper and them playing him as an no.8 off the left, pretty much nailing any chance of Smith Rowe getting more games. I'm covinced we'll try and sign him, and as they're spending the best part of £200m so far they'll take our offer to balance up.

Wonder where he'll go. Newcastle? Juventus? Baggies? Something about those kits makes me think of him.
