He’ll be available in a season or two for about the same price.

Tenuous link saying we are preparing a £50m bid for Federico Chiesa the Juventus winger/forward

He’s a brilliant player, but I severely doubt he’d come here.

I doubt it too, although I think we will sign at least one player this summer who makes us think “wow”.

I reckon Tielemans is on the edge of that, especially considering the money involved.  12-18 months ago he was being linked with some of the worlds biggest clubs.

we need a forward, a right back and one wide player - as Coutinho will likely be moved on.

I want him to stay but Coutinho strikes me as exactly the sort of player the Saudis would be interested in.

I feel a bit conflicted wanting them to offer us stupid money.

Regarding the “wow” signing, I’m still holding out for Felix.  Controversial suggestion, but I think Havertz would be a decent alternative.

Both can playing in the space behind Watkins and offers something different to Archer/Bailey/Buendia.

Never been convinced by Havertz just doesn’t do enough and is sometimes completely  anonymous. Certainly not what Arse need.

Tielemans is a great signing, and like Kamara a brilliant bit of business for free. Whilst I'd obviously like all signings to cost nothing, I hope we're not just limiting ourselves to looking round for freebies. If we need to soend £50m+ on a player, I hope we're in a position to do just that.

I’d happily cash in, would back Unai to find a player who can actually stay fit to give Buendia proper competition.  Coutinho has a lot of class but no point if he can only play 20 games a season

I think 20 games is being very optimistic. I’ve no doubt he would be better under Emery but because of his lack of availability and his likely high wages i think if we get a chance to move him on, especially to SA, who would pay a decent fee, we should take it if we’ve got a replacement lined up.

Good signing but he’s not on the edge of it for me

Whilst he is a great addition, most of us don’t think he starts in our midfield as it stands
I think a Wow signing walks into our first team

Do you know what, I think we are ready to splash the cash for the right player

Some of the links are with elite type players and we are struggling to entice them to Villa Park at the moment, but I’m sure we will pay up when the time comes

My fear is that we are linked with some super players around Europe. I just don’t want to end up with Oxlade-Chamberlain or some player from Leeds etc as the sum total of our efforts
