That Bamba lad we have previously been linked with from Vitoria is going to Qatar. Not Saudi so mixing it up a bit.

Newcastle's new Saudi sponsors are paying £25m a season (?) to have their name on the shirt. I know the Barcodes have more pulling power now that they've qualified for the CL but is that market value or does it look inflated?
Tbf I think they've pitched it about right now they're in the CL.  I doubt they'd have got it on the open market, but last season Arsenal Spurs and Chelsea were all c £40m and West Ham and Everton about £10m.  It's prob a bit toppish, but they could have made an argument for a bit more.

I'm no business man but how does it work ? If I spent say £20 million on a shirt sponsorship I would expect that to generate an extra £40m in my revenue stream or have I totally missed the point.
The point is I presume they will be effectively self sponsoring (through some sort of linked company).  The question is how much could they theoretically charge themselves (pump into the club to help with FFP) without looking like they are cheating.  I guess they felt this season they could get away with £25m.  If they're in the CL next season they'll prob try to push closer to the £40m.

And who thinks corruption doesn't exist in all walks of life.

He's a silly boy. Hasn't he just broken into the Italian squad?

Suggestions that Sinisalo will go to Exeter on a season long loan.

I'm not sure but if he has then he's even more daft than I thought.

He has and he had Arsenal sniffing around back in January. I guess we have other centre half plans.

I know nothing but the lack of serious links to players suggests to me Monchi is now marking Lange’s homework.  Unless Unai has expressly already said he wants a particular player I suspect they will now be working an added range of possibilities brought to the table by Monchi and it may be a few days before we see any activity

BBC writing about Scott McTominay, worth a look?

I don't think he's a bad player, but don't think he'd get in the side ahead of our current CM options.

Might be good for the conference league away games

Plus players and key people going on holiday or if they've been playing in internationals, only now going on holiday. It's no wonder most transfer activity happens when players are back in for pre-season.

Yep thanks for everything Bert, but time to pack him off somewhere.

Only 12 months left on his contract. Get him fit, loan him out again. Might need his replacement in first though.

That's the problem we can't. Naturally he will walk/ limp out the door next year on a free.
