Maguire should go to Italy. Chris Smalling was much maligned before he left Man United too. Or at the very least to a defensive minded team, he’d do fine at West Ham or Everton.

Like John Terry he’s a right footed left sided defender. So him coming here makes little sense unless he wants to carry Tyrone’s bags for him.

Manchester United will only accept a permanent deal from Newcastle United for England defender Harry Maguire, but they would consider loaning the 30-year-old to Aston Villa. (Sun)

Obviously not a great link.

Why do Yanited like us better than Newcastle?

Both in the Champions League would be my guess.

No mention of Paul_e's favourite Welshman, Nico Williams? According to William's agent, we've put a bid in.

Chelsea are looking for new goalkeepers: sniffing round Emi, apparently! Why would he want to move to a team that finished below us last season?

Presumably because nobody wants to help Newcastle, in particular those who feel most threatened.

Help? Selling them Harry Maguire?

That's what I mean, they apparently won't loan him there, only sell him, but they'd loan him to somewhere else....

His scent is about all they’re gonna get.

Possibly not going to go down well if this bit of the athletic article is anything to go by....

Quote
Negotiations with Villa became tighter and more secretive. He would later go on to warn player representatives that deals would not go through if they were leaked into the public domain. Privacy almost became an obsession; the club would take great pride in announcing transfers that had not been reported previously in the media. For some, this felt draining.

Personally i'm a big fan of how we've conducted transfers since NSWE came in, hopefully it continues that way.

Also, Samuel Chukwueze.

Yes please.
Chukwueze and Jackson at Villarreal look fantastic

I think AC Milan are after Chukwueze.

No, Milan are after Chukwuemeka.
Chuks agent must be a strange mix of genius and inept.  To somehow get teams like Chelsea and now seemingly Milan interested in him and, in Chelsea's case at least, paying a ridiculous fee and wages when he's done the sum total of sweet F A on the pitch is nothing short of incredible.

Conversely, the career advice he has given to his client is ridiculously bad.  The kid should have been on loan in the Championship for the past two seasons and now chomping at the bit for a PL starting place next season.  Instead, his career has stagnated and he's lost two crucial years of development.  The massive greedy prick.

Transfermarkt usually lists a player's agent, but still none listed for Chukwuemeka. I've always thought it was his family representing him.

Are Milan going to pay enough for Chelsea not to be making a loss on him? I can see a loan somewhere he will get minutes to try and up his value.

In fairness he's earning a fortune and going to Milan must be very exciting for a kid of his age.  But I still think he would have been better served tearing up the Championship for Middleborough last season.
