If we sign him for free and he plays well enough to demand a move in 2-3 years time for a decent fee, then even though it will piss us off at the time it will have been good business.
Jesus....Christ!
Just had to go to Villa Park and check that it still says Aston Villa  on the wall and not Southampton/Bournemouth/Norwich etc etc.

I think Tielemans would be an excellent signing for a free transfer. If Emery thinks he's ok, then to me it'd be a very exciting move. We'd look incredibly strong in those more 'holding' midfielder roles - any 2 from Kamara, Dougie, Tielemans, and Dendonker - so pretty resilient to injuries, suspensions etc.
Tieleman was their mainstay midfielder. Leicester were dominated and bullied to defeats by most teams. I suggest Tielemans has a lot to do with it with. He was not much of a holding midfielder last season.

He's not a holding midfielder though, he's an '8', more like Dougie, who also struggled like fuck in that role in a poorly set up team. Their 'holding' midfielders were Soumare and N'Didi who were all absolute Blues whenever I saw them

Reports that apparently we have now made an offer for 'object of desire' Pau Torres.

Pau Torres, Tielemans and Felix/Asensio if we were definitely considering them would be a fantastic start to the window!

To be fair Ndidi looked a pub player for them this season, fairly sure it was his 'assist' that setup Traore for our winner that night. So many of their midfielders struggled. Sticking with an utterly finished Vardy up front another terrible call.

If a club gets stuck in a negative situation in lots of good players (even Rodgers is objectively a very good coach) can lose their way as we know from recent memory ourselves. Tielemans had the experience and ability to show a lot more on the pitch for them but didn't.

Is that the name of his bottled fragrance (RRP £49.95)?

Not keen on Tielemans, part of why we’re good at the moment seems to be a great team spirit and I wouldn’t want some billy big bollox half arsed fucker who only does it when he feels like it to potentially upset that.

As I said earlier though, none of them wanted to play for Rodgers, just like none of our team wanted to play for Gerrard. He'd be coming into a club in great spirits, with a superb manager and a happy squad. At his best he helped them to two 5th placed finishes and the FA Cup.

I wondered why I kept hearing it in a husky French accent.

I've asked my mate from over that way (I know him through rugby but he's been a big football fan for the last 7-8 years for some reason) and he said Tielemans looked much better under Smith after looking unfit and disinterested at times under Rodgers.

To go back a bit he said talk of Barnes for £50m is insane and even the £25-30m being mentioned now would be good business, I said a lot of Villa fans think he'd be a decent signing and, to quote "You'd hate him after 6months, he's selfish and lazy".

Finally he also blames Soumare, Faes and Iversen for them going down, to paraphrase - "Soumare just kicks people, Faes is slow and a bit of a donkey and Iversen has no business being a professional footballer".

Well Danny Ward made Iversen look like Lev Yashin so I'm surprised he didn't mention him, but yeah Soumare and Faes looked comically bad
