Various dodgy media outlets linking Spurs with Watkins. Can't see us selling, or him wanting to go there anyway.

Also a few links to 'Bono' the Algerian goalie that looked quite good at the world cup. Presumably as a backup option if Emi goes (don't think he will this season). Be a bloody good backup if he replaced Olsen though.

I met Watkins cousin in the local club a few weeks ago, he was Arsenal and said all the family were including Ollie
so I know it doesn’t always translate anymore but maybe Spurs won’t have the same pull as it might have had

Plus the fact they’re absolute gash

2 years ago I could have seen it. Not now. They are a shambles on the pitch.

And off the pitch. About to appoint their third choice manager (again) and no director of football in place to handle transfers. Kane running hi contract down, no European football and a bloated squad. Fast turning into the new Everton.

I hope Kane stays another year then leaves on a Bosman. It means they will be a bit stronger for a year but then it will go to pot....

I'd be surprised if Levy let that happen, funny as it would be.  I think he'll be sold this summer, but it will be interesting to see at what value, given it's 12-months until he's available for free.  I'd be surprised if it was much over £40m.  But £40m now, with a year of no Europe ahead, vs nothing in 12 months.  I suspect Levy will that the money...   If this Aussie chap takes over, I'll bet it's with a very limited budget, and his remit is European qualification, then you get some money.

Not a chance he goes for as low as 40m, even with only one year on his contract. Levy would think it would be better off keeping him and trying to get CL football at that price. If it's less than 70 I'll be surprised.

I think he's looking at a few more moving parts than that. Given his suitors are (realistically) Man Utd, Real and Bayern, and all of them need a striker of Kane's style pretty urgently.

So I reckon Levy's plan is to refuse to sell, bank on them all needing to buy one this summer anyway and then trying to convince Kane that he should just sign a new contract as the places he'd go have since sorted out the position he'd be playing.

Probably won't work, but it's worth a shot.

Kane won't go anywhere that doesn't speak English.

I think Levy blew his "just sign a new contract and all will be well in the world" argument last time round when he subsequently made it impossible for him to leave for City two years ago.  I suspect the chances of him signing a new contract with Levy are somewhere between slim and none.  He's got three, maybe years left at the very top of his game (maybe a bit less), and he's probably the best English player without any silverware in a generation.  He's leaving, this summer for a fee, or next one for nothing.

I don't disagree. But I expect him to still try, it's why I think it's probably more likely that it's the second option you give there, rather than the "leaving for money this summer" of the original post.

He has never been blessed with pace, so he may have more years than that. Similar to Teddy Sheringham,

Although his ankles might be a problem later on down the line.

I reckon Levy will get his hundred million or close to it for Harry Kane
He’s one of the very few world-class out and out strikers in world football left

Haaland has scored 36 goals in one of the strongest teams we’ve ever seen in the Premier League
Kane has got 30 for one of the shitest Spurs teams we’ve seen for years, it’s not too many behind playing alongside a bunch of twats

If Kane had gone to Man City, he would be right up there with Haalands goalscoring record maybe he would have a bettered it, he’s also a more useful player of football as well

Someone will pay big money for that sort of goalscoring numbers

I think he'll see this year out at Spurs then go for free next summer, on a ridiculous salary.

I think Kane is a brilliant player - top notch. Only a few could afford the 60m+ and wages would be 350-400k a week

I hope that this is the case because Tottenham won’t have money to spend in the transfer market. Wall stable, make noises that they don’t want to sell Kane, he’s probably the best way they’ll make any money this summer.

Yeah, I'd be amazed if anyone in England stumped up the money necessary and I don't see him moving abroad with the record in sight.

Without Kane they would have been in the bottom half of the table.
It’s a hell of a decision to cash out now and hope the new manager can somehow get a tune out of that squad and the £75 to £90 million I expect him to go for.
I don’t see him signing a new contract so Levi will kick this problem into the next season is my guess unless he gets a crazy offer.
