Ward-Prowse would either play next to Kamara allowing Douglas Luiz to finally play further forward and unleash his inner Ronaldinho.

Or we’d play him at right back, he’s a very good passer and crosser of the ball, and would suit  our style of keeping possession. He likes a long range pass so can switch it quickly to Moreno or clip it over the top to Watkins. He’s played there previously.

At right back he can step into midfield which seems to be in fashion for right backs lately especially in possession based sides which we are aspiring to become (Walker at Man City, Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool).

Fuck Danno, great suggestion.  JWP can play right back and would work his nuts off for the right manager.

More likely he’d end up getting splinters on the bench, coming on for last 10 minutes when chasing games in hope of winning free kicks…definitely wouldn’t play him over Kamara, Luiz, Ramsey or McGinn

If we’re talking about what is likely, then it’s more likely he will go to Newcastle and be praised every other week for being better than either Longstaff.

I suppose there is some merit in signing English based players in that they don't have to adapt and bed in.  Barnes, Tielemans and JWP all decent players, although aren't the sexy type of signings that we are probably expecting.  I'm sure that Unai will make them better players though.

I know in an ideal world you directly upgrade the first XI but in the Kamara and Luiz position, who realistically could that be who would come? I can't think of many. So the likes of Tielemens or JWP would be strength in depth in that area to attack on all fronts. I'm not saying that's where I'd want a quarter of our transfer 'war chest' going, mind but an improvement on Donk? I'd say it is. I agree though that JWP has West Ham written all over it with Rice going.

I suppose Guendouzi would be the preferred optionm for me, but we know that JWP and the others mentioned are already in the Premier Division and apart from last season were doing well.   As for the Donk, for some reason, there is a feeling that he just doesn't do enough to get in every week, although is a very steady player.

I think going by what more knowledgeable
people have said then Guendouzi would be challenging McGinn rather than Kamara or Luiz. I have no issue with the Donk, I wouldn't be gutted if he was still here but he can be improved upon.

Hark at Pep over here. Interesting shout though.

JWP would cost a lot and he signed a big new contract last year. I would've had him a season or 2 ago but was hoping for better.

JWP wouldn’t get in ahead of Douglas or Bouba but playing him at right back, with his hard work and crossing ability/free kicks is a good shout.

Love the idea of signing Tierney. Watching Scotland regularly, he is better than Robertson and can play LB, CB or in MF.

Would assume it would mean moving Digne on. Have to say that LB doesn't seem to be a pressing need.

JWP at right back is something I'd thought about.
Tierney seems very injury-prone...

I wouldnt either but the idea that they will be fit for every game is why we need some serious back up.

Is he quick enough to play full back? we had Targett who runs like he’s towing a caravan at left back who had to be upgraded, not sure would want another slow full back ever

We can put him on steroids.   I'm sure they're allowed these days!

Yes, and they made John Cena a much better actor. Honestly!
