So we are suggesting that Marco was so excited at the prospect of joining the Villa on Tour European piss up that he told Marca? And after Emery specifically told him “I know you have chub in your trousers at the prospect but keep your fucking gob shut”. But he couldn’t. Is that what happened here?

That, in so many words, is what's happened here, yes.

I know have a picture in my head of Asensio coming off the phone to Emery like an excited teenager "OMG, OMFG, it was HIM!" with his mates all around him squeeling.

Is it at a pajama party, and who throws the first pillow?

Not saying it didn’t happen but if two people are on a call, unless one of those two people tell the media they were on said call then how would anyone else know it even happened? Did Marca tap the line?

He did it from the pay phone in the Drakes Drum after the match.

Many of the Madrid social media outlets are claiming that Marco has chosen us. Need a bit of Fabrizio or Percy to bring this home now.

I haven't seen 'has chosen' but I have seen 'are closest'. I'm going to make myself a chamomile.

I went with chosen because to be close he’d have to have chosen us. I think.

I'm pretty sure that with no transfer fee, we are able to table a weekly wage that will make all but the absolute top players stop and think. But the real clincher is whether we can really convince him we are going to compete.

It would be nice and a massive statement of intent. But I will believe it when I see it!

Nicolò Schira, I've no idea how legit he is:

This will play out exactly how the Joao Felix rumour played out in January

I think it's more like we chose him.  ;)

I've heard the name before and he's got plenty of followers, but I'll wait for Fabrizio or John Percy before I get too excited.

Nearly 300K followers, seems legit enough. Seems to have called Liverpool's new sporting director a few weeks ago.

I stand corrected. You are absolutely right.
