Think you only have to look at Drummond's list from a few pages back to see how many of these rumours are clearly bollocks. They look very much like picking out vaguely plausible names they've either played in sides at the same time as Emery or Alemany have been there.

Ahem.
Oh for fuck's sake. Corrected.

I don't know why but I've some mental block that conflates yourself & Drummond as the same person. Must be the 3rd or 4th time I've got you mixed up.

I’ve got slightly more hair, but it’s getting closer every day.

It's exactly how they work some rumours to give them links. There are as many feasible as unfeasible.
But it is completely pointless and you are pissing people off.

It’s obviously your intention.

There really aren’t.

Unless you think out of 50 links we might sign 25. Then again, I wouldn’t put it past you.

Yes, the thread title provides for a fairly wide ranging subject matter, but obviously not wide enough.

And a little less weight. That's not getting closer.

No, it isn't come on now. But I will make a note of what you're saying. I'm attempting to cover all possible bases and suggestions and encourage the discussion.
I believe Messi was mentioned by someone, but I would never be touting him, Kane or Mbppae, who are all connected with transfers elsewhere.

I'm juts contributing and saying for discussion that there are players moving around who would be nice additions. I didn't realised it was upsetting so many to be speculative even with or without grains of potential truths.
There is also some sense and logic behind release clauses in Iberia leagues, and there appears to be reasonable evidence that there will be a strong Spanish influence across the playing group, just as there is in coaching and directing.

I stand by my knowledge of a Chelsea player potentially arriving, but everything else is based on developed notions or hearing/reading that a player is linked and think the player could/would be excellent for us here, and I leave the door open for discussion on them.

Edit: I have come up with a fair compromise regards my writing links. See below. Thank you.

Challenge accepted!
I will do a list of 50 by close of play by Friday.
And then break off from rumours till the window officially opens in early June.

I think that's fair all round.
Great suggestion by You Percy!

Well Footy, there is a difference between hopes needs expectations, rumours and posting any name that you come up with.
Unless we change the thread title to any one who plays football who speaks or can learn Spanish.
I didn’t need the Spanish lesson either.

Wotto Footy!

Why don't you instead just look at 2-3 that you think would be both feasible and really interesting? Rather than the lazy ones every man and his canine are coming up with.

Is it the same Chelsea contact who told you that Potter was in abslutely no danger of the sack and was going to be given 3-4 years to turn things round?!

Exactly this, post a smaller list of players you'd actually like to see us sign or players that you think we will genuinely be trying to get.

For example you've mentioned Asensio a few times, that's a good link that has been shared by a few sources, he'd be a great fit, he's available for free and may well be interested. All 3 combined make him someone worth talking about. On the other hand posting a list of names like Aubamayang, who I'd say with absolute certainty won't be coming, is pointless.

Speculating (where there's been no links, etc) is fine, but limit it to players that you actually want us sign and think could be feasible.

We're the 2nd best side in the league since 2023 ticked into life. Only Man City have taken more points. 2nd best defence too.

Whoever we add, it's going to be to some very strong foundations.

Yep, that's the exciting thing really.  Anyone coming in is going to have to be better than those we currently have, who you rightly point out have been largely very good under Unai Emery.

That hopefully bodes well for the calibre of player we will be looking to bring in.
