I'd take Sancho with a weighty loan fee (circa £10-12 mill) and no obligation to buy. If he does well £35 mill+  permanent deal next summer.

He hasn't done enough at Yanited to go for anywhere near £60 mill.

Leon Bailey looked great in Germany apparently.

I wouldn't touch him. Why take a punt on somebody who hasn't performed at all, and help a rival offset their wages so they can bring somebody else in?

Exactly, this summer is going to be all about Chelsea Manure Spurs and to a lesser extent Arse Liverpool looking for mug punters to move on their non performing assets off their Balance Sheets .
This transfer window could be as more about Financial Management than squad management.
We are in a relatively strong position FFP wise so taking high paid cast offs is probably the last thing we should do.

Yep. Compare the signing of Moreno to say, Cucurella.

Indeed. Great in Germany, absolutely dreadful in England.

As Rigadon said, like Bailey.

That's why I'd rather go for players from La Liga, on the whole. And I think we will.

I genuinely don't care where the players we sign are from, as long as they turn out to be really good.  We've seen how Emery can turn underperforming players into European contenders, improving both the team and the individual contributors, so if a player has been a little underwhelming elsewhere, but Emery sees enough in them to know he can spin them into gold, then I'm all for it.  He's earned that trust.

(I would, however, also like us to spend a lot of money on a statement attacker/wide forward, because I think we deserve it)

We bought Moreno for next to nothing and given how influence in such a short amount of time he’s probably doubled his price already. Along with some known entities, I can see us going for a few players many of us weren’t that aware of. Shrewd signings who will quickly fit into the Emery way of doing things. I’m just curious to see if the kids returning who bursts onto the first team scene.

Much better standard than Germany, although no doubt some gems exist there.

I wouldn't touch the looked good 2 years ago where are they now brigade even on loan- Sancho, Mount, Kalvin-Phillps, even Sterling. Likely as not we'd end up with a Barkley style one.

There's a mad list of players that Southgate picked in front of Grealish for ages that have seen there careers tail off dramatically since, like it carries some kind of curse.

Or Southgate is just a twat.

To be fair Sancho wasn't picked ahead of him. KP and Sterling deserved to be in the side on 2020-21 but so did Grealish at the instead of Mount.

Based on curse maybe Foden is next
