I think it would be £25m for Archer + Add-Ons + Buy-back clause.
Blimey I would hope for £10m plus…..£25m is a bit crazy

And…. Have we sold Keinan yet?
Shit yeah - and that Samatta guy - is he still on our books

It's all more money to spend and with buy back clauses if they fulfill potential, imo it's smart.

I think we'll see at least a rb, a forward and possibly another cm come in

If we're now getting rid of Archer, we're one injury away from Durán being our main striker.

To spend huge money and replace Watkins with someone better, we'd still be in the same position, one injury away from having to play Durán every game.

Why, where is Watkins going in this scenario?

Where is Watkins going in the replace Watkins scenario?

Nobody is talking about replacing Watkins.

Bit surprising he hasnt signed a new contract over the summer though

For example - Newcastle have Isaak and Wilson. Surely we can aspire to that sort of quality?

Watkins and Ings......(runs for cover :D)

The days when we couldn’t generate money by selling players seem to be behind us. Probably £170m plus since Joe left.

Liverpool sold that striker to Sheff Utd a few years back for £20m, Archer has a similar if not better scoring record. Man City have just sold a reserve keeper with a season on loan in League 1 under his belt for £19m and a winger to Ajax who hasn’t kicked a ball for them for around the same figure.
No way Archer is leaving for £10m.

“enquiries for their top players have been rejected without a second thought this summer.”

From the Daily Mail, that Tom Collomese (sp?).

Thanks for the story Percy...

There is a comment below the article which is beyond ironic...a Gooner is calling UE a bottler despite Arsenal surrendering the title to City last season...comedy gold :)

Yeah, no matter how intriguing, I will never click through to a link from the Sun, Mail or Express. Times or Telegraph are right wing but sane, at least.

The fear of Watkins getting injured is real. As I put in the Archer thread, we haven’t even seen Duran in pre season. Then again we have seen Archer and he’s looked a bit of a rabbit in the headlights in the chances he has got.

Diaby and Bailey can and have played centrally. I do think we’ll get an attacking player in, either a Felix or Johnson type or a out and out centre forward.

Bailey can’t even play out wide consistently well, I wouldn’t be trusting him to play up front if anything happens to Ollie.

Nor me. If we could get anywhere close to our money back Bailey would be first out the door for me. Weak, inconsistent and injured a lot.

I like Bailey. I think he's been involved in many an important moment since Emery came to the club.

I also like how he flollops his tongue about when he runs, he reminds me of Krampus, and what more could you want in a player from the Bundesliga?

Vague link to an Italian AM/FW. Nicolo Zaniolo.
