My point is that we may bring someone in who's arguably even better.

Oh I know, I just don't think there are any obvious ones that come to mind and I'm not sure that's where we would want to spend significant money.

The only ones that I can think of who fit that description have been moving to the likes of Real Madrid and Arsenal already this summer.

Who are you thinking of?

Nobody specific in mind, and I’ve just thought that in my mind Tielemans is an 8 and competition for Douglas Luiz but Emery may use him as a 6 or as an 8.

I think it's far more likely someone higher up the pecking order decides that they want Kamara for themselves, than we decide we want to upgrade him.

Douglas is a first team player and for me is ahead of Kamara.
Tielemans and Douglas are more experienced and provide more goal threat than Kamara.
Douglas Luiz is the heartbeat of the Villa team not Kamara or so it was proved last season.

When/if that day comes, he won’t cheap and it will be very useful for FFP.

Two French clubs were meant to be interested in him and we were supposedly open to him leaving. Seems weird to bring him to the US though if it was that close to being done. Although Diaby's arrival, and the circumstances around it, could obviously have a lot to do with that.

Two players linked who are on frees but we're not signing are:
Wilf Zaha is going to Galatasaray
Steven Gerrard's Al  Ettifaq are taking striker Moussa Dembélé

I think this is the first non-disappointing transfer window since we came back up. I mean, there has been good business before, but we always failed to quite do enough.

I thought the window when we got Watkins was good, my only big complaint was Barkley coming in.

Most were buzzing with that but I remember my Scouse mate saying he's a waster and a piss head. Turned out to be spot on.

I was fuming when we got in that clown. Started really well too!

I suspect some on this tour are being put in the shop window.
