Tell that to world of Golf.  It’s a classic move, buy everyone and everything, then create your own league, and then hey presto they want to merge with you

How do other top clubs manage it?
I don't think they do which is why the likes of Maguire and Laporte are looking to move on. There's always going to be a certain amount of churn as players look for more game time elsewhere.

We've been linked with a Benfica midfielder today along with AC Milan and Lyon. Florentino something or other. I know nothing about him as I ignore everything to do with that plastic, gloryhunting bag of red shite of a club.

My guess is we're going to be linked with hundreds of players this summer.

The Saudi money is going to change football forever over the next few years isn’t it

They don't seem to understand that nobody cares about their league, and still won't.

This. No matter who's playing over there people don't give a shit about the teams in that league so it will never be more popular than the European leagues.

The world will decarbonise, without constant inflows of western, Chinese and Indian cash the kingdom will finally implode (along with the two emirates), and we'll be back to normal.

That's assuming this sports project doesn't go the way of the Chinese one and is suddenly shut down, which it might well be.

Yep, agree.

The best case scenario they have is that in 25 years time it's looked upon in a similar way to MLS. Which, to be fair to the yanks, has done well for itself. However, it's still probably only on a par with, say, the third tier of European leagues (Dutch, Belgian, Portuguese, Ukrainian) even in the friendliest assessments.

According to Wiki he has a buy out clause like 120 million Euros - better be good then.
