Cash and Young are not a RB duo that will get us into the top six, imo. Lacks dynamism, its a bit MON 2009. Get rid of one and get someone more technical like Moreno in, so we have aggressive attacking and solid defensive options on both sides. Digne's wages will probably keep him here but he can be solid for us and still offer something in attack.
Twp observations:
1. Young and Cash lacking dynamism is something I don't recognise. Both are pretty active and aggressive (when required); one is a former regular international and the other is a current regular pick for his (adopted) country; both sometimes get caught being too progressive. Emery may not actually be looking to emulate the left side of the pitch.
2. Digne has been a clear strategic sub during Emery's tenure: he is introduced into a game when Moreno has done his 60-70 minutes,  and he is played as a more defensive fullback. I think they may be a 'both / and', unless another club comes in with a deal for Digne that we could not turn down; or, Digne decides he needs to move on.

My concern with Cash is that he is sometimes  reckless, gets caught wrong side and gives away unnecessary free kicks.
I think RB is a position we need to upgrade.

Agree - like him as a footballer but he doesn't have a football brain to match. We were much better with Ash in the team. Even though he was playing behind Bailey mainly

The Independent saying we are apparently leading the race for Harvey Barnes. I wouldn't mind this at the right price.

In his last four Prem seasons, he's got 56 goal contributions, one every 1.7 matches on minutes played.

Compare that with Bailey - 11 goal contributions in last two Prem seasons one every 2.7 matches on minutes played.

The only issue for me would be the price. He's still got a couple of years on his contract, so you'd think Leicester will be looking to cash in as much as they can when the other decent players are all up sooner.

This season Harvey Barnes shots on target result in a goal 33% of the time
Leon Bailey 14% of the time.

Barnes scoring 1 in 3 times he finds the target is impressive.

Definitely would be an improvement. But not for the £50m being touted about.

Barnes would be a good signing for us.

There's definitely something to consider in the price the fact that he knows the league well, has a very good injury record and has improved his goal contributions year on year.

Someone like Neco williams or chukweze would be as expensive and much more of a risk imo

I think we could see some players move away from La Liga due to a ignorant element and racism.
Vinicus junior of Real Madrid was high profile situation most recently and spoke out.
A player who has been linked with Villa previously  in winter window and one I enjoy watching Lee Kang-in South Korean who is an attacking player . Well seems he wants out.
His release clause is reasonable at around a reported £15m-£25m
Unfortunately it's been reported that he endured racism and discrimination from coach and players.

Barnes would improve our squad and be a significant upgrade on Bailey and Bertie. But the price tag is excessive. In theory we could get two players as good with some good scouting abroad. Though, we do want to ensure we keep our Brit quota up too. For his numbers you'd probably pay the Brit player premium. Because we could go and get Barnesaldinho from Brazil at 20 mill and he can't hack the pace and physicality of the division.

Lanzini I'd avoid, even on a free. When he plays regularly he's a useful player but he's had too many injury issues across the last four years (only one regular season within that) and he's now 30. We should be getting first-team players, not squad fillers. Effectively a few of our first 15-16 who aren't consistent enough get pushed down to the bench more and we improve the first 11. We need 4-5 outfielders in really, but they should all be first XI quality. Then we need a good back up keeper in addition.

Bailey and Buendia still have something to offer but I think we need better to step into the starting 11 ahead of them. Troare can probably leave and maybe we bring Ramsey 2 in to the squad mix next season too.

Barnes has got 12 prem goals in a struggling side from out wide. Bailey and Buendía have about 3 each. Barnes is a massive upgrade. Look at our goal difference we are 15 goals behind brighton, he's defiantly the fast ball carrier we need and get-able if they stay or go down, I don't think Newcastle would be interested as they've got Gordon and Issac.

Barnes is a Yes for me. Needs a new challenge.

Lanzini no way.

I'd sell Bailey ahead of Bert to be honest

Does anyone know our current financial status regarding FFP?
If we have an insight into that then we can see how much we’ve got in the pot to spend. I’m seeing people say we’ve got north of £100m to spend but is this financially viable?

A definite yes to Barnes. He's a very good player, and I think he'd have a similar impact for us that Bowen has for West Ham.

Traore's deal is up next season, I can't see them giving him a new contract unless he has a stormer next year. I can see him being loaned out or sold this summer.

Bailey speaks in glowing terms about Emery and how he coaches players and develops them, so at least he is engaged in the process and therefore has a chance to improve. He's not shown more consistency that Traore did when he signed, but he's the more valuable asset on the books.

Barnes plays predominantly left side !!
So he would come in on that side we would think.

I hope this is true regarding Barnes, he’s awesome, could be just what we need, something very different to what we have now. Fast, direct and consistently involved with goals.
