It’s on the Villa FB page, Ive just watched it.

Only brief highlights but Archers movement and strength looked good in them, decent enough pen as well, just a very good save.

I thought he didn't get enough on the penalty to be honest, if you're trying to more or less pass it into the net the keeper's always got a chance if he guesses the right way.

He didn't do enough to make me think he could be our back up striker, really want him to prove me wrong.

Thought the way he missed the penalty was quite Watkins-esque! ;)

His touch, strength and running in the lead up to being fouled for the penalty was top drawer I thought. When he had that second chance soon after, that he dragged wide, he seemed to go into his shell a bit.

Who is Revan? Good recovery right at the end to stop the shot on goal.

"If you're ready for the second half of football LET ME HEAR YOU SCREAM!" - I don't envisage this one catching on.

In the Space Center no one can hear you scream.

Young LB. His brother Dominic was also on our books for a bit. Thought Seb looked lively when he came on.

If the player hadn't fouled him for the penalty, he was shaping up to score, I reckon.

Just watched the highlights, some interesting stuff.

Defence looked a bit ropey! I guess it's the division of the team that deals least well with the chop-and-change inherent in friendlies. Still, yowser.

Archer, mixed time of it but his movement looked seriously good, which is the most important thing as it means you'll keep getting chances. Wasn't the worst penalty either, sometimes they get saved. Some promise there for Ollie's understudy.

Philogene took his goal well, really hope he'll save us a bundle.

Those sprung throughballs from the midfield two are pretty devastating no? Golly.

Overall, just hard to tell from friendlies, in the end. Better to win than lose though!

Thanks for the analysis. Do you have a link to the highlights?

Thank you. Thought it was an excellent save, the git.

Was a hairs breadth of getting a second pen but stayed on his feet and pulled it wide whilst off balance as well.

If Martinez had faced and saved the penalty, I doubt we would be stating a poor penalty from the taker.

I thought the pen save was very good.  It wasn't a bad strike by Archer and that goes in most of the time.

Which is good…we need them both to step up and compete not so much a starter and deputy but make so we are not weakened whichever starts and the other chomping to get on

The pen was a decent strike, whether the run up telegraphed to the keeper where it was going is a different matter.  Good save though.

Was Tielemans on when the pen was given?
