Really it’s not that amazing.  All I’m hearing about on the Beeb for the past few weeks is about how those dreadful mid table sides Spurs and Chelsea will be challenging for the top spots next season…

It no longer bothers me. It'll never change so fuck 'em! If we won the FA Cup we would be treated like plucky Coventry (did you know they won the FA Cup?) or if we won the PL we would be a flash in the pan fairytale story for them. Let's just keep winning and take the prizes.

Tielemans stood out I thought, uses the ball really well, Jaden Philogene had another decent game and nice finish from Diaby. More pluses than minuses.

My son’s first game - which he loved - so that was the real highlight.

Glad you both enjoyed!

Watched the brief highlights earlier. Archer seemed to rush his penalty and maybe should have done better with his other chance. I think he'll be fine though. Nice finishes for the other two though.

We've seen the best and worst of Buendia over the two games. Really good in the Newcastle game, utterly anonymous and ineffective last night.

Just watched the highlights, some interesting stuff.

Defence looked a bit ropey! I guess it's the division of the team that deals least well with the chop-and-change inherent in friendlies. Still, yowser.

Archer, mixed time of it but his movement looked seriously good, which is the most important thing as it means you'll keep getting chances. Wasn't the worst penalty either, sometimes they get saved. Some promise there for Ollie's understudy.

Philogene took his goal well, really hope he'll save us a bundle.

Those sprung throughballs from the midfield two are pretty devastating no? Golly.

Overall, just hard to tell from friendlies, in the end. Better to win than lose though!

They are still telling us how players only linked with Manure or Chelsea are so good because they do these things like kick a ball?

Thanks for the analysis. Do you have a link to the highlights?

How did Phil play?

He wasn't on long but showed a nice touch as you'd expect.

It’s on the Villa FB page, Ive just watched it.

Only brief highlights but Archers movement and strength looked good in them, decent enough pen as well, just a very good save.
