Always bet on No goal scorer rather than 0-0.

HT. We should be 2-0 up instead of just the 1 goal lead, which amuses me purely because we've had 0 shots on target.

I thought the early one from Buendia looked destined for the bottom corner before it got deflected. Maybe?

Decent half that! Played some nice stuff. Angel in the crowd today, he'd have finished a couple of those!

Zero shots on target in the first half.

I don't think we've been particularly good but a few times we've upped the tempo and made a few good moves. Ollie needs to bury that chance, hope it doesn't come back to haunt us.

I can see Palace getting a goal in the manner of their disallowed one, or us handing them one on a plate. Hopefully Carlos will replace Konsa, if not we need to sign someone ASAP.

With VAR he'd score 2 a season as he'd be offside all the time.

Good that we’re in front but need to be better in second half.

Yeah. We need to move up a few gears second half. Apart from McGinn nobody else has impressed. Moreno has got forward well but delivery not there. Dougie really frustrates me, he's such a talent but prefers to cruise through games. It's not enough. He needs to start dominating the midfield, he's more than capable of it.

If we're going to build from the back can we at least release it when we have players available rather than wait until the player with the ball is under pressure. It's not great for my nerves.

We remain unconvincing at home but I hope we can step it up second half. We need an emphatic home win.

McGinn's been excellent. All over the pitch and some nice passes including the one that set Cash free for the OG. Would've been criticising him far less if he'd been playing like this for last 18 months.

Beyond that pretty average but then Palace at home is the sort of game where it will be scrappy and we can't commit too much otherwise they can get through on goal as we saw for their disallowed goal.

Hopefully we can get a second midway through second half and then see out victory in similar manner to last week.

Palace corners are even worse than ours.

Emery wants us to have the ball more at home. We don’t do that enough and the fact that we haven’t got a shot on target is very concerning. We need to be far more dominant when playing at Villa Park. Our possession advantage right now is a lot of passing in our own half which is also really worrying give our propensity to give it away too easily

At least he'd give VAR something to think about though hey? ;)

McGinn and Luiz have been good for us though. Hopefully it all comes together now.

Come on Villa! Let's give something for Jordan Ayew to sulk about.
