8 subs, 2 of them keepers. Surely there's a youngster we can stick on the bench? Unless it's a typo.

Emery said yesterday he wants to have three keepers for the pre-match warm-up and drills.

2 keepers doesn't bother me, only 8 of a possible 9 subs picked seems saft though. Have a youngster on there to gain experience of being involved.

Fair. I think I meant to respond to TV but messed up.

Aye, he'd also basically said that he thought the U21s weren't anywhere near getting in the first team and he was only going to let one go on the bench if he thought there was a chance he might put them on.

Seemed like a smart motivational move to me - you earn your place on the bench, it isn't just handed out to the tallest dwarf.

Eze and Olise are excellent ball carriers but I wouldn't say either are lightening quick. Zaha just back off a six week lay off so would be surprised if he does the 90 minutes.

I expect us to win this as I don't think they can hurt us in ways Leicester could. Getting the first goal would be helpful though.

Not sure I see much motivational skills in telling a bunch of youngsters that you think they are so shit you'd rather have an empty seat on the bench than one of them.

Did we loan Kadan Young out as he was making the bench over xmas/early Jan?

I just don’t understand it at all. And the false hope thing is stupid too. Surely it’s false hope for Sinsalo to be on the bench as the second reserve keeper in a sport where it’s rare to see the main keeper ever changed through injury or tactics.

I read somewhere he doesn’t like to give false hope either.

Really important we take the three points today to stay with the top half pack. Hoping for a great Villa Park performance and goals.
