One of the big issues under Gerrard was how disjointed we looked with large gaps in the midfield and down the side of our defence. Yesterday it looked as though Emery has fixed that and we seemed to attack and defend as one unit with individuals within the structure all seeming to understand their roles.

Just watching the highlights again. "For Aston Villa, it's the stuff of dreams!"

Erm, no. Last night I had a dream that I won Come Dine With Me. I don't even like Come Dine With Me, but that was still a bigger deal than going 2-0 up against Tottenham.
You've won Aston Villa. Enjoy the 3 points, I hope it makes you happy. Dear Lord what a sad little club, Aston Villa. You ruined my afternoon completely so you could take the 3 points, I hope you use them to get some grace and decorum because you have all the grace of an African Car reverser with no tyres on.

These cockney media types know nothing of ACR.

Also, I don't like to mock anyone for missing a penalty unless they're a complete twat (which I don't think Kane is), but BBC commentary just said "for Harry Kane, the bar is set so high..." Not high enough for one of his penalties though, surely?
I dislike Kane. Good player granted, but a cheating little shithead. The media call it “clever” when he does it. They aren’t so kind when one of our players do the same thing though…

You're right, of course, but that applies to lots of players, sadly.
Fair point. I just hate the way the media lick his nutsack…

Superb performance
Ashley Young does not get the credit he deserves from the media considering his age.

You OK pal?

I think his account must have been hacked!

Don't worry, he's still worried about us filling VP on another thread.

Indeed. And when required, we had three players quickly on one of theirs to force an error.

The last thing Sky or the BBC want is for us to rock up, kick down the door to their cosy little club and announce...Right you bastards we are Aston Villa and we are gatecrashing your party. Carry on like this and that could well happen.
Spot on.

We were 6 at the back at times yesterday. I wonder if that was an instruction to try to protect Olsen a bit more? If it was it worked as he didn't really have a meaningful save to make.

We were the same at Brighton though, it's just the way we defend now.

It's fucking great.

That's as good an away performance I've seen from a Villa team for a long time, when we got the 2nd goal Spurs never looked like coming back, not once did I see us going to the corner flag to waste time, we were the ones, who looked like scoring again. The organisation and confidence Emery has instilled in the team in such a short time, shows just what a top manager he is.

Boubacar was immense, MOTM, closely followed by Douglas also superb.

We drop into 6-2-2 as soon as the opposition get about halfway in our half.

Superb display, an intelligent, passionate manager at the helm. Looking forward to the rest of the season very much, with Emery’s cup record and ability to get us to compete and beat the sides above us in the league, might it just be our year…

As for that utter cockney biased drivel written by Garth Crooks on the BBC, we’ll I can only admire the bloke that he’s actually being paid to write that pile of steaming wank.

Did the same against Man United as well at times.
