I hope today means we are going to stop being nice.

Me too.  Sick of watching Villa sides roll over and have their belly's tickled

When did we last come from behind (ooh!) to win an away game?

Bolton in the LC.

In the league it was Spurs, May 2021.
That's better than I thought tbf.

Watching the highlights that pass to Dougie from Martinez wasn’t the best. If anything it was Martinez at fault.

Even Lil’ Lee thinks it was a Pen against Digne, so what do I know
Never a penalty. There was no intent to foul, Brighton player ran into Lucas, the clumsy donkey.
I don't like those sort of penalties but, based on what's been given against us in the past, I'd expect it to be a penalty if a Villa player that was on the receiving end of that tackle. Been on 3 or 4 other clubs' forums and pretty much everyone thinks it was a penalty and that VAR got its wrong, with the word stonewall being used a lot.
Cracking result though and the table looks a lot better than it did 8 days ago.
Solly March won a vey dodgy penalty at VP 2-3 years' ago (Trezeguet was the defender) so I see this one as one of those balancing-out situations.
Yes good reference! If the penalty had been given, I'm sure it wouldn't have been overturned, but very relieved it wasn't given.

We defended very well after we took the lead and only let them have one real chance from the header. It was good to see players under fire doing better. McGinn seemed to be in his element in that scenario and I thought Ings did well too.

We did well to pick up 7 yellow cards for just 11 fouls, although 2 were for time wasting. I'm amazed Martínez had only picked up 2 all season!

The longer the game went on, the longer the team mentality was growing towards not conceding, everyone put a shift in to ensure there would not be another goal against us.

The group hug the defenders and Big Emi had at the end of the game was what we have been missing for ages.

I'm really looking forward to the restart, after Unai has had an extended spell coaching this team we should be in for an exciting second half of the season.

Amazing what a decent manager with tactical nous can achieve. So glad to get an away win at last. Brighton is always a great away day.UTV
