Their fans, who mostly seem to be from Africa on various social media platforms, are ripping into Ten Hag and Ronaldo. It’s a joy to read.

Try not to laugh..

Sad bunch of virgins. First question, why would they film that, second question, who the fuck would watch it?

Surely people with access to the internet will be watching a stream of the match, not this collection of divs.

7 points from last 9 against Manure (and we were 2 down in the draw). Are we Manure's bogey team?

But enough time to execute a lovely drag back to move away from 3 of their players.

He's tweeted out thanking the fans for the reception he got when he came on.

If the new manager and his staff think we'll put up with that style of play for the rest of the season.....
They'd be absolutely right.
Up The Villa!

That drag back was filthy, made a couple of them look like complete muppets.

We looked in control for large parts, the best I've seen us play for a long time.

Konsa and Mings looked confident when playing out from the back. Passes were crisp.

Dougie, Leon, JJ all went up several levels for me. Great to see Sanson get on....feels like a new signing!

McGinn looked great in the advanced role. He was everywhere, well done SJM!

Welcome and well done to Emery.

The control of the game we showed was excellent. Their goal was a fluke and after that, Martinez only had a couple of serious saves to make.

Everyone was brilliant but Luiz and Watkins stood out for me.

From the brief highlights I've seen I thought Martinez was outstanding. When does MotD2 start?

I said before the game this is the fixture I least enjoy and the one I would most like to win this season so I am chuffed. Pleased at the performance, the energy and some tactical intelligence too and I think every player played a part in a true team performance. Special mentions to Luke and Mings as I thought both were outstanding, and Dendoncker deserves praise for nullifying Eriksen.

Going back through past matches in my head I think that is the first time I have seen us beat them since the 1989 Boxing Day massacre as I was moved to France in 1988 and missed a few wins over them.

Actually looking forward to MOTD for once.

Oh yeah, and teams forcing us to attack the Holte in the first half is working a treat!
