When we win the league and/or the UCL with these handcuffs it will be the greatest footballing achievement since….er….Leicester. I’d rather do it that way than suddenly have the chequebook unleashed.

Imagine how hollow it must feel to be a Man City fan.

Looks like he's won some trinket at Marca's awards. Looks very tanned. No vampire jibes from oppo fans while he suns himself in Spain.

Don’t think he’s bothered by the Vampire jibes, it’s a backhanded compliment really as Unai could go on forever with us.

The right thread? Not sure…

🚨Valencian coach Chema Sanz will be part of Unai Emery's technical staff at Aston Villa @90minuts

Last season he was Lisci's assistant at Osasuna #AVFC

Plus it's false, as he's not averse to silverware.

Perhaps when we hit the inevitable bad spell we can just stick with him….5 games in last season and there were a few boos and people moaning. We are lucky to have him and he perhaps recognises he is lucky to have us but let’s keep it that way .

He's put silverware in the trophy cabinet, he's got the season from me.

The bottom line is that if we fail this season and don't qualify for europe, he'll be the most angry.

Being replaced, sounds like Unai fancied a refresh. There were rumours a month or two back that there would be a change though never said who.

Good luck, Pako and thanks for everything.

Would seem like he was an important conduit for Unai here.

Didn't have him at Arsenal and we know how that went.

Hope the replacement is similar calibre.
