His English is so obviously better in that interview. What a sneaky fucker. Love him.

Given the financial limitations he's worked under, along with injuries and loss of form for key players, I think that him getting us a Champions League place this season is arguably his greatest achievement in his time at the club so far.  Win on Wednesday and he will have taken it up another level.

Thought we were in danger of a Newcastle esque slide this season after the mess of a summer and awful start. But Emery galvinised the group superbly, injuries to key players hurt but we still did enough. If the EL wasn't a distraction we would have picked up more points down the stretch too.

Nice to beat Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Yooo, Chelsea and Spuds all in the same season, even if this big 6 bollocks should have been put to sleep ages ago.

I presume not many clubs outside of that group have achieved that in the last decade or two.

And four goals scored in four out of our last five home games. Would have been five from five had we been arsed about Spurs.

Bonkers to think that less than 4 years ago it was the players that were shit not StevieG, none of them were good enough for the top 10, no manager could do any better, criticising Gerrard was like reading the Daily Mail comments section, we shouldn't even bother trying to get a top notch manager like Poch/Emery, SJM had zero chance of ever being a CL player and so on.

Then came Unai.

It's funny thinking back, my preference at the time was Poch but there's no way we'd get him. When Unai was first mentioned, I read his wiki page and realised I had no idea how successful he'd been everywhere he went (one brief sojourn in Moscow (!) aside). That's when it became apparent to me that the club owners were serious about achieving their aims.

He'll leave us one day.

But it won't be this summer.

A massive summer awaits. Theres a lot to do, clearing out the detritis and also buying in quality.

Give this man an upgraded squad and a genuine title challenge is on.

I've moaned about some of the football this season but he's a genius and I'm an entitled prick so there you go...
