Played like that to lull Forest into a false sense of security while keeping them in the relegation battle. Next level thinking from Unai.

Next level thinking was actually that Unai worked out losing today would not just pile pressure on Forest but also make sure Forest needed to beat Bournemouth on the last day of the season to survive themselves whilst simultaneously ensuring that Bournemouth don’t overtake us. The guy’s a genius.

Agreed. But I suspect West Ham won’t win another game anyway

Just back at the car and would love to ask Unai at the post match presser just what the fuck was he thinking. I've never seen him so motionless on the sidelines. It just looked and felt like pure surrender from the minute the team was announced to minute 95. Truly shocking Unai and how does he pick the team up for Thursday.

Absolutely keep him, I can't think of anyone who would do a better job than what he's done with us.

Shafted in the summer with utter shite signings. Get Champions league and start the rebuild with some quality younger players.

If we don't, the rebuild gets harder and he might not fancy it.

and rightfully so - he's been amazing, but maybe he's hit his ceiling?

I can't help think he's over thinking right now. I guess that's just the way he is. He has to remember some players have the attention span of a rotting log. Yes, I'm looking at you Mister Thicko's Barkley and Sancho.

Taking this more seriously then you intended, I suppose in theory it might mean they have to play a stronger team tomorrow. But West Ham losing should have scuppered that plan and we should have just gone and actually attempted to win today.

Feels like he needs to relax and let the leash off the players at times. And go for some chaos now and again.

it's all too slow, we need some aggression and pace.

He has done amazing things with this team, and if - “if” is far more weighty than it should be now - he makes the Champions League again, then obviously a fine effort.

But whilst injuries are clearly a big hindrance, our levels since January in the round are not good enough. So it needs to change, and tonight was a performance in keeping with anything Gerrard served up at his worst.

I also think us likely keeping Spurs up will come back to get us.

Without Unai this squad would be nowhere near the CL. Big issue for me is how reliant we still are on players that were here before him which means the squad is getting old and stale together.

I'm not sure if Emery was just as angry as the rest of us who were there this evening.

It was as if he almost accepted the result and the performance. Uncharacteristically, he also he stood virtually motionless for the whole of the second half.

He's certainly put pressure on himself and the players for the next two games.

Of course, but you’ve hit on the point there - feels like we’re on a cliff edge.

He has  got us to the edge of greatness, which is why its so infuriating we have consistently bottled it in big games under him.
