I think he’d take it.

I think his reasoning would partly be they’re the biggest club in the world, and partly frustration here due to our financial shackles. Plus he’s been here a while now.

He's only been there a few months, my dogheaded chum. Agree with the rest of your post.

I wondered whether being Basque would mean he’d be less likely to manage a team that was associated with the Franco regime, but Lopetegui managed them so maybe it’s not a thing?

And the recently departed RM manager, he's Basque too.

He may well take it, but I honestly can't think of a worse fit than the brattiest, whiniest Real Madrid squad in ages (think of the ground that covers).

If Unai was planning to retire I could see him taking the job. £15m a season, two year contract of which 18 months you spend at home, that I could see. Other than that, it ain't going to happen.

Depends on the person. Pep for example would never manage in Madrid or the national team.

Can you really see Bellingham, Mbappe and Vinicius Junior responding to the demanding in his way, putting up with the continuous reinforcement of the system? I can’t. Certain managers fit certain clubs, Emery just doesn’t fit Madrid.

Let’s hope they listen to ‘European football expert’ Kevin Hatchard:

“Unai Emery leaving #avfc to join Real Madrid would be a lose-lose for everyone. Villa would lose an extraordinary coach, Emery wouldn’t get the control he enjoys at Villa, and his demanding methods would be resisted by Real Madrid’s players. It would be a disaster.”

Presumably Mbappé did last time he was playing for Emery.

"I do not forget that he helped me adapt to this big team, which was not easy. I have a lot of respect for this man even if he did not succeed in Paris. I sent him a congratulatory message when he signed for Arsenal, and now I am following from afar."

Seems to like him. Commence Operation Shitthyself.

I'm not all that sure he did. The one season they were there together was probably Mbappe's least productive season, going off the numbers at least. Although obviously he was still very young.  Cavani was the standout player for PSG over Emery's two seasons there.

Also I didn't realise that Adrian Rabiot played nearly every game for PSG during Emery's time there.

Considering he's been available on a free twice while Emery's been here, bit of surprise we've not been linked more with him.
