The source of this 'story' is obviously made up and written so to get people worried.
If RM do decide they want a new manager this summer then he would obvs be on a list but for reasons stated by others, it's a horrible club for a manager of Emery's type and approach.

I’m fed up with RM coming after Villa managers!
Get over it, RM, Villa managers don't want you!

If I were Unai Emety, I think if they offered me the Real Madrid job now, what I'd do is this.  Tell them I was interested in speaking with them, go over with all my crew - Vidagany, Olabe, all them - turn up at the Real Madrid office, not say a word, individually give everyone in the boardroom the Vs, drape a Basque flag over the window with whatever the Euskara is for "Villa. Golf. Real Union. In That Order.", then walk out.

If he did go, I'd feel the worst of any Villa departure ever.

I don't think I'd feel like any positivity would be coming for years.

How the fuck do we replace him? We can't.

He can't go.

We have to handcuff him to the dugout and bring his meals when he needs them.

Sorry mate you're not going.

What if he takes Ollie Watkins with him? There's a dichotomy for you!

He’s not good enough for Real Madrid, needs to win the league and champions league with us first.

I hope not. I think the level of control he enjoys here would not be present in RM. Hopefully he wants to build his legacy at Villa Park. It took me years to get over Saunders leaving, A decade to get over SGT. If Unai goes it will follow me to my grave!

We should at least consider any offers.

This could be a bullshit story planted because of our audacity to be in the mix with the Sky Six. We should know our place, who do we think we are?

I don't think Spanish tabloids are all that fussed about that sort of thing really.

It was a Spanish journalist reporting that RM had spoken to Unai’s team/representatives.

I suppose if they said we’ll double your wages and you can have exactly the same control you have at Villa he might be tempted. The chances of such a thing happening are less than remote. Besides, I don’t think UE is driven by keeping a top club top. It’s far better to take a midling club with potential that he can mould into his image of what males for a successful club. I think we’ve got UE until the owners and UE himself are done with football.

Sorry Dave, that's just arrogant complacency. The Spanish tabloids drink the blood of the same goats as Sky and the BBC at their Undermine Aston Villa. Who? Aston Villa, They're In The Premier League. The Victorian Team? Yes meetings.
The whole universe has it in for us.

One thing we know is that Emery is a smart bloke, he knows exactly what it would be like over there. My 87 year old nan knows what a nightmare it would be to get Mbappe and Vinicius to follow strict instructions.

I have a simpler view on this.  If he gets offered the Real Madrid job, he will leave.  The end.  Then we will back to the likes of Bruno Lage pool of choices.
