I agree with LeeB. He wants to win the Champions League, not have it handed to him by Mbappe, Bellingham et al.

I’m fed up with RM coming after Villa managers!

I thought I heard the commentator say that, if we won tonight, it would set another record of 7 wins on the bounce in European football at home.

I do think our managers would move heaven and earth to keep him.  I think the reality is every top club will consider him.  Its just the bigger the club - the more stuff gets written about it because it generates clicks and revenue.

To paraphrase a great poster - "to win the champions league with Real Madrid is like losing your virginiy to a prostitute"

Emery when asked about the RM speculation: “I have nothing to say about it.”

Sounds like he's off. If was staying he'd have said "no chance i'm ever joining those wankers".

You would never close that door to such a huge opportunity. I don’t think he’s going but I can understand him keeping his options open.

Unai post-match. https://x.com/footballontnt/status/2017005396716642374

He refers to JJA as 'Yamal' which augurs well.

I'm sure he'd be tempted if the Real Madrid job was actually offered to him - but he's not going to get the control there that he gets here - and he's tried the Galactico route at PSG (Neymar and Mbappe both bought while he was manager), and it didn't work out so great for him.

That's not to say if an offer was tabled he definitely wouldn't take it, but I don't think it's as cut and dried as it would be if he hadn't spent that time at PSG.

Yamal?! High praise indeed.

I thought he looked really impressive. Future top level impressive. Really excited to see what's to come from him.

Steady, that's just the way he pronounces Jamal.
