Fene away and Newcastle away. We know Newcastle are dirty twats physical so no midfielders will make that tough. And I assume Fene aren't a footballing purists dream either.

The "not being competitors" line is a deluxe version of the "Can't compete with the Boltons and Charltons" O'Learyism but he should make it clear so that the media/public understand instead of calling him a weird Dracula etc. The Sky Six have more resources so every time we finish higher than 7th is clearly overachieving in his book.

Doesn't help himself with the odd facial gestures he makes and the camera stays on him for a few seconds, folk watching in the pub laugh at him along with his unclear English. Sure, they're twats and none of this really matters but we're all human and will make it personal when he finally leaves us.

Well - we're obviously trying for it - Abraham and Gallagher seems like they were the type of targets.  If we get players like that the depth of the squad should be enough to get us top 4

I want a manager that's pissed of that we lose. What I hope doesn't happen is that we have a manager that gets pissed off because we can't succeed because no matter what we do the deck is too stacked against us.
This.

We are in very dangerous waters - we always have a Dec/Jan slump because the squad is nowhere near deep enough for 3 domestic competitions + Europe. We will get smashed v Fenerbache and Newcastle this week. If there are no signs of at least 3-4 bodies coming in this window then I fear Unai might just say "what's the point"?

Simon Jordan on Talksport talking an absolute bucket-load of common sense about us, Unai and the PSR fucking-over we are getting.

I'm prepared to bet his English is significantly better than their Spanish.

Clearly, Emery has been sensational for us, just extraordinary, but are we saying that he had no say in our summer recruitment which was simply terrible.

If he walks away because 'What's the point?' then he should accept that he has some responsibility in that too...

I’m worried now that 2 bob bit channel and the
“experts” they put out have criticised our world class coach.

I have massive sympathy for Unai under the circumstances and yes it is with the benefit of hindsight but I maintain he should have been brutally realistic and played the reserves against Spurs. At the very least he should have rested the irreplaceables, playing your best XI every single game is just asking for trouble. The FA Cup is more prestigious but the Europa prize is far greater and the standard of opposition much lower. Our reward for winning was Newcastle at home in the next round and having to play Bogarde and Guessand in Fenerbahce with kids on the bench.

So we’ve gone from having T shirts with Emery quotes…to, he’s leaving us anytime soon, all in the space of 24 hours.

Gloom and doom is alive and well on H&V.

There was the question posed - quite reasonably - as to why Unai didn't fully explain his point but he didn't need to did he. Simon Jordan is very complimentary about us generally speaking.

Yep, because Garner didn't get the red he deserved and moments later we managed the rarely-spotted triple defensive blunder to let a goal-allergic forward to unaccountably achieve the best chipped finish of his life.

(Of course it was more than that, of course it was a bad day, but you know, we are kind of overreacting here you know?)
