What a list!  In all seriousness, how did Ange win 3?  Surely by definition the award is for consistency, his Spurs side were anything but that throughout his entire time there.

What a list!  In all seriousness, how did Ange win 3?  Surely by definition the award is for consistency, his Spurs side were anything but that throughout his entire time there.

Won all three in the first three months of 23/24. When to be fair, Spurs won eight and drew two of their first ten matches before the wheels came tumbling off.

In Guillem Balague's book he reports that '"there is no other coach who would turn a player's supposed weakness into their motivation for signing them", Roberto Olabe admits. it was as though he identified with their flaws and sought to coach them whilst harnessing their strengths.'
When I read that, I immediately thought of Guessand and wondered what weakness it was that Emery sought to improve.
To Pat's earlier post, I agree that he sees the non-core players as open to selling, and he seems to constantly be seeking to improve.

No one can know his mind. He's said a lot of comforting things in the past with regards the challenges he faces here and how he's had to face them at most of the clubs he's been successful at, but ultimately peoples motivations can change. All well and good saying he won't get what he's got here anywhere else, but it only takes a top side with plenty of financial headroom to give him that promise in writing for things to change. I know it's not necessarily as simple as that, but who knows.

Ironically I think he's more likely to step away should we win something. If we win Europa for instance It'll be very, very difficult to do better. He clearly want's to add the CL trophy to his list of achievements and as much as I'd love to believe this club has as good a chance as any, it's hard to argue with the simple fact that deeper pockets then ours is the only way to get it done.
